But did it influence others to use it? No.
Yeah, it influenced Halo to use it.
But did it influence others to use it? No.
I meant 16 player FPS on consoles and I already mentioned C&C on Playstation used to do it myself.
Halo popularised LAN on consoles.
And incredibly novel multiplayer. Three vastly different races duking it out, I can't remember anything else like that until infantry vs tanks vs planes in Battlefield 1942.Giants: Citizen Kabuto had FPS elements and open-worldness (and underrated awesomeness) and that was 1998 I think.
Oh that, I didn't reply to it because I lack the intellect to understand its insight and even if I did I'm such a fanboi I would religiously refute it
By the by, no FPS game influenced dual wielding pistols, this guy influenced it -to- FPS;

Could that be mr John Woo? And you referred to Tequila?
No One Lives Forever, only #52. What an absolute crock of shit this list is, NOLF was way ahead of its time and still looks* and plays great. It had amazing levels, gadgets, characters, acting and brilliant, witty dialogue. And it came out in 2000 (before Halo, Aada).
*Ok it may be looking a bit dated but I've played it since the likes of Crysis came out and it's still a gorgeous game - the Lithtech engine really was superb.
What i think Halo brought into the mix is casual FPS. It was more of an everymans FPS, while FPSs to that point had been more "hardcore" so to speak. In good and bad ofcourse.
