Things are certainly beginning to hot up for this event, with just 20 days to go to the weekend of pure unadulterated gaming heaven

The LAN, which has room for over 200 players on, will be fully SWITCHED. For the non-techies out there, this means a huge increase in performance over just using hubs, and lag will be non-existent even under very heavy network load. Add to this a purpose-built electrical system that gives each player a power socket of their own, and this makes i2 have by far the best infrastructure a UK LAN party has ever seen.
In addition, sponsorship has been coming in thick and fast. IBM are not only providing a whole rack of near-supercomputers (read Quad Xeons that weigh 70kgs
), but have also loaned out 10 high-spec business machines for conversion into monster gaming PCs. These 10 machines are available for those people who are having great difficulty in getting their own PCs there.
Other sponsors now include SMC, who are providing the extra switches, Guillemot, who have come up trumps in terms of video hardware as usual
, Videologic, who are filling their regular spot as multimedia sponsor (speakers and sound cards) and Everglide, with some cool mousemats. Some other big name companies are in discussions with us at the mo, so expect a nice big pile of prizes for the comps and raffle

At the time of writing, 131 out of the 200 places have been booked and paid for, which leaves 69 up for grabs if you get your cheques in asap (currently 131 people are after these 69 places but have yet to pay for them).
