Full on orange sky in the midlands atm, like end of days.

Sunny, according to BBC weather...

They can't even tell you what the weather is doing now, let alone in the next few days. I think I will continue to take official weather panic attacks with a pinch of salt, as usual, I haven't died once doing that.

Other people have tho.

Today.

Edit: And large amounts of others in single british storms. So calling storm warnings "weather panic" is just belittling of a very real need.

For the record, the BBC has it bob-on in nottingham a the moment - sunny, warm and windy:

The sun is a different colour because of the storm. But it's still sunny.

You want the BBC to have a separate "still sunny, but the sky is orange in colour because of very rare atmospheric condition elsewhere in the UK" icon?

How would you represent that?

Additionally - you know why the sky is that colour because of the Beeb's reporting. So, they've actually done a good job, no?

They said its cause of forest fires in portugal and spain and the smoke being blown up.

It’s Saharan dust / sand according to the met office. It went from almost night in Edinburgh to fierce orange in minutes.

3 dead, 180,000 homes in RoI, 18,000 in NI, 4000 in Wales without electricity, 130 flights cancelled in dublin, more elsewhere, 3 flood warnings (floods expected) and lots of propery damage - Cork Football Stadium's roof blew off!

Definitely worth a warning and definitely more serious than someone's fence getting blown over eh?

Just back from a 45 mile ride, I must admit I was more than a bit nervous riding at high speed under the trees. Roads covered in twigs and sticks, some branches too.

Scare mongering is shutting an entire country down. Saying, careful now, its a bit windy, is reasonable.

They’re keeping all the schools in the country off tomorrow.

We’ve had a few broken branches on the green next to the house and apparently a tree is down in the village somewhere.

In other news the Au Pair has drank all the orange juice and the shops are shut. I’m annoyed.

They're probably in such a dire state of disrepair that they need checking anyway ;)

Shocking!

Such a first world problem. Isn't there a "weinstein" clause in your contract for such a situation - if she's drunk all your juice she has to drink all your "juice" or something?

Most of the Irish I know are telling people to stop being wet and get over it.

Faith in the Irish restored.

I don't think it was sand blown up from the sahara tbh, I reckon the hurricanes have just got together, formed a bully group and robbed Donald Trump of his fake tan, then spat it all over us.

I also nearly hit a felled branch at around 70 mph on the A34, luckily my elite Gran Turismo skillz saved the day. Had to employ my elite pant washing skillz afterwards however.

I set it up to pre-load but I'm guessing the 4.5GB of space I had free won't have been sufficient :/

The dummy box I was looking at in Tesco suggests it needs 60Gb........that's a lot of different Skyline models right there.

It says my TV doesn't support HDR, which it does do. Is that it's cack-handed way of telling me I don't get HDR because I don't have a PS4 Pro?

I think hdr came with the pro and not the ps4. Not sure tho.

Have you gone into your tv and set the hdmi ports to enhanced. Sometimes they come defaulted to standard and it wouldnt accept hdr on that.
