How to work theese artis in a temp

I currently got Cyclops eye shield and are planning on getting Shield of khaos. But the problem i have, how do i best work theese two artifacts into temps. Cyclops got better resists(Rvr temp?), and For Pve Shield of khaos?.

the char i'm getting theese for are an paladin, so give your opinion.

To get it to fit in u will need to change out somethings. if u dnt want it to be your armour then try change out your rings and others slot like that with the bits you need.

Prob take a while but u can get it there. being pve u might be able to drop some of your resists neway as u will have a cleric/grp with you. Depends on you matey

so for RvR suit Cyclops is the right one then, faster block+good resists+lower end use for slam. i'm quite willing to change armor in temp.

I know you shouldnt use to many artis in your temp aswell so i'll go with CB, Malice,Cyclops eye,Winged helm ,GoV and HFC in it.

So i'll have plenty of room fickering with hits/resists and such.
so thanks for the tip know i know how to do the temp.

smaller shields has an faster blockrate than medium/big shields. But blocks less enemies than the bigger shields.

Think eggy ment that for a RVR group pally, not a RVR solo pally.. couse a pallys job in a rvr group is mainly to slam\interupt\bg.. not run around guarding stuff

i wanna mek this clear now then, i run solo mostly and will choose acloyte buffs as Cl line. so i run solo more than i'm grouped.

Small, fast shield = less endurance used with slam.

Downside: You'll get hit, if more than one archer shoots at you...

With multiple meleers it doesn't make a big differnce. They will try to outstrafe your shield anyways and one will always manage to be in your back.

Your first argument is wrong. The size of shield doesnt effect block rate. The advantages of a small shield is the speed and the and the low endurance cost compared to larger ones.

You use your brain and buy a ML7 large shield and an MP small shield and s/c the same stats on that MP small shield as the ML7 (-10 AF [broken anyway]), if your so desperate to use them both.

Oh, and don't rely on CL resists too much, they're not gonna win you a fight.

If your going to solo, atleast make a semi decent template with +11 parry & +11 shield with SoM, and not HFC. Invest in some AugDex and Parry / Block for RA's at low RR.

Trust me, the more parry you have the longer you've live against DW opponents.

Also I like the idea of ml7 large shield and a mp small with same stats..
use small shield when you faced with one enemy or in grps where you run and slam ppl 2 or more enemy swap to large shield

goody then for SoM, since i allready have it on lvl 10.

what i'm not going ot rely on is Cl resist, but cl stat buffs. The RA's I got at my RR 3l2 are MoB3, Aug dex 1, Ip 1, Purge 1.
my spec is
48 chants 42 shield 39 slash rest parry.

running round only with cl buffs = u will die 99% of the time anyway so dont bother with armour >_>

Guard is not pants, and eventho most enemy-tanks are dualwielders, you still can block a fair bit, if you spec and equip for it.

Guard on a Highlander with 15 dex (from GoV!111!!!) is ofcourse shit. But it really depends on your job. If you're a pure BG'er (eg. not used in the train), you can easily sacrifice some melee-damage for more DEX/Shield-skill. You would be amazed what a good guarder can do in the period between the caster his instinct (must run! tanks on me!) and his common sense (must stand still, got BG on me).

Fortunaly, a small shield guards aswell as a large shield, so you can still get away with using a small shield. Keep a large shield in your inventory incase some nutter F8's you and you're golden

There's quite a variety of good shields on the market. I remember one dropping from a ML4 encounter with DEX and STR cap which is top-notch, but incredibly hard to get. The dragon small-shield is very fast, and has decent stats. Personally I love the Darkspire small-shield. Has good stats, and DEX-cap increase
