Help with char

hey, im playing euro wow when it comes out, i have a doubt atm with what char to choose. Mainly what i want is a char which will get grps, and if it can solo decently..... better even. My 1st choice was mage, but looking at the forums, they are quite slow at soloing and they don't have that much utility or dmg compared to others. Rogue might be another choice, soloes well and supposedly they get grps as dmg dealer, is that true? want to get some info about that. Other chars might also be good, plz give me some ideas or help me to choose 1 =).

if you are focusing on the pve part and getting groups etc you should take a look at the druid class. they can "blend" in and almost take any role in a group (tank, dmg dealer,healer and so on). For what i have seen they are ok solo and kinda "cool" with there shape shift system.

all classed solo well, not all at the same speed...but when you solo you do mostly quests, and then it doesnt really matter that much how fast you kill.

Mage is a good choice for groups and solo...I think mage has the best dps (until you run out of power that is ), and great utility (sheep and pbaoe root are very nice to have)

I play a priest and I dont really like Rouges in the group when there are no warriors(or noob warriors who dont know what Taunt does) to keep agro.

mayb its different post lvl 30. But until now I prefer a group with mages and warrior+pali.

Ye, all classes solo well, almost entirely soloed my Mage to lvl 42, with exception of instances. And please dont read blizzforums and eat all the shit yanks shit out....

ye i know yanks are kinda stupid when it comes to comparing chars etc. Druid i don't like much because what i've mainly read about him is that in lvl 60 pvp etc, ppl want more specialised chars. A priest has better grp heals, a warrior tanks better, rogue does more dmg, i know druid does a bit of everything, but ppl tend to want specialised guys. Still having the doubt between mage and rogue, mainly for lvl 60 pvp im aiming (still have to research about how pvp is in the pvp servers, mainly wanting daoc-type pvp)

Oh, and if you want daoc style PvP, and im talking about RvR servers, your best to join a PvE servers, the up-and-coming battlegrounds will more than satisfy you

Have some doubts about that..... The battlegrounds, will that be like in daoc? i mean, low lvl guys fighting or will that be like the frontiers aswell? with ppl porting and roaming around big areas, that's mainly what i want. All that shit about having to lvl in places where u can get killed by some1 faaaar higher than u is soo crap.

About the priest thing, priest is kinda good but i preffer mage, the shield rocks imo, and either 31 arcane 20 fire or 31 arcane 20 ice specs are v good, i think i'll stick to gnome or undead mage, still gotta decide what faction to choose.

Roaming big areas would have to be a PvP server for you then. Battlegrounds seem to become quite confined/tactical spaces.

All that shit about having to lvl in places where u can get killed by some1 faaaar higher than u is soo crap.

That rules PvP servers out for you then.

Not much point tbh you bearly notice the extra armour and the stats certainly wont be giving you much of en edge.

i'm goign to make it my mission to prove they are, althogh ive been playing a shadow priest in USA and havn't lost to a warrior yet

IMO Priests are the #1 class for PvP, they have almost everything, the only thing a Priest needs to worry about really are Undead who have fear immunity cos they can be quite tricky.

Shamans can be quite nasty purging PW:F and PW:S but good Priests should be able to win

and paladins are no problem just dispel their shit, they dont have enough melee damage to break through the 15 sec recast on PW:S and after a few nice mana burns they are OOP i.e. they are screwed

also who can beat Mind control, nothign like drowning the enemy player in water

imho now with the changed of better armor increase in druid bear from its a VERY viable class to take for pvp, they can take the form of an caster, warrior, healer and a roque, not as good ofc, but the utility u get to chooce from it all make u far superior in pvp, it just takes some time to get to know your class very well..

Finally gonna play mage when euro version comes life, till then i'm moving to usa wow for 3 months with some friends, will play hunter there to try =).
