ASSASSIN CLASS CHANGES

Because of the great advantages Assassin classes - Nightshades, Shadowblades, and Infiltrators - now have over almost any other class in the game (poisons, stealth, devastating combat styles, good base damage, extremely high evade, etc.), we've decided to take some steps to bring them back in line with the rest of the classes in the game. We realize that these three classes are not exactly the same, but they all have a combination of abilities that make them more powerful than other classes of their level. The overall design goal of the assassin is to have them be able to defeat opponents using a combination of stealth and their "backstab" combat style chains. Now, with these changes, they'll have to use more strategy to defeat their target opponents. There's no way to sugar coat this - these steps will make Assassins less effective in direct combat.

- We've removed the Ignore Pain Realm Ability from all three Assassin classes. These classes have been granted back the realm training points they spent to get Ignore Pain. It was an oversight that Assassins were given IP at all, and we should have taken it away sooner.

- We are capping the maximum amount that any player (of any class) can evade at 50%. Assassins are the only classes that can currently go above this cap, by linking together their Evade 7 ability, plus the Realm Ability Dodger, plus bonuses from dexterity. Assassins will be granted a Realm Ability respec for those who no longer want Dodger ability (as it is usually Dodger that pushes them above 50%). Please note that you will get the realm ability respec only if you currently have Dodger and you are either a Nightshade, a Shadowblade, or an Infiltrator.

Of course we know that the Assassin community in general will not like these changes - however, this is one of those things we have to do for the good of the game.

I've already respe'd IP in favour of Aug Strength and MoA, so no probs for me there. The cap on evade could be a problem though, as I have spent points on leveling Dodger and it's important for me to evade to pull off my stun style as well as to avoid being slapped for 500+ damage by a tank class. :)

it was only today when someone in guild chat said, hey lets roll a fg of infils and powerlevel them, i replied whats the point it obvious they will get hit with the nerf bat soon.

btw it wont affect friars evade since we are just under the 50% cap :) sweet!! :D

i dont wanna see the assasin class ruined like archers where but i do feel these changes have made it btter for others and especially for archers who where basically rp cows for assasins, after this patch an assasin will have to tread a bit more carefully when attacking archers instead of sprinting after them and killing them with no perf or styles.

but i hope they give assasins a full respec and ra respec, it would only be fair.

hope they remove FA for me too. dont want that crap if they are removing Ip.
not too fun that they remove my evading tho soloing Mooses might be a bit harder if they have ip.

FA is "nerfed" too so that makes 23 free points for assassins and 0% chance of healing T_T

edit: make that 1% forgot bounty stones ;>

its not as much an nerf to all assassins as it is to buffbot assassins ;)

it just takes away the ability to go toe to toe with an Heavy tank, unless that tank is really stupid and dont know what he's doing ;)) but thats how the game is supposed to be from the beginning, and with dodger2 you are close to cap (maybe alittle over) at 50, so no big sweat compared to the 60-70% some have with buffbots... and IP never-ever belonged to assassins, thats a tank RA right there... i never wanted IP, im saving for mop3 ;)

frontload dmg and you dont need ip or evade ;) (well almost ;))

LMAO - at comments of ppl who a) never tried an assassin b)didnt level one

LMAO - at hunters and other "bow" classes getting "loving" None of the assassins have see hidden anyhow these days, with truesight you get a "free rpoints session" every half hour and where IP allowed us to sprint into range of the archers we now die before we get there. Doesnt matter anyhow if we reach em or not cause now we probably cant even melee a hunter anymore with a capped evade .... xxx hits you with his spear, you are hit for 3xx damage, (x3 and you are dead)

So overall what do we get: nerfed poison, nerfed evade and no IP (being the only bloody thing that helps me get some Rpoints in any big battle where more then 3 casters are lined up at the back) Time to go hib and role myself a battle ranger me thinks.

Well its all assasins with buff bots that make these nerfs come true..

Think the nerfs were right tho...

If assains whine about this they should try a caster - eating grass 24/7 and haveing MAJOR resists sometimes above 50% ...

Dexa well basicly so can Infs tank mooses etc if they manage to miss PA, evade once and game over for the moose... shouldnt be like this.. give tanks see hidden or something.. Assassins are suppose to FEAR tanks, they are suppose to be tank pray or something.. :p while they eat snipers/casters... (wich im sure they can do even with these nerfs)

But atm with 70% evade and IP.. heh they can out tank a m00se doing moose,FA,IP..

IP would be used as a lifesaver for all assasins who fucked up (made misstakes = unskilled if you put it that way)...

ive played an inf, i now play a scout, i have absolutely no chance of meleeing an assasin as it stands, unless he screws up big time.

i cannot walk to amg in camo without being hit, i most certainly cant get there without camo, i get ganked instantly by an assasin sprinting after me and beating me with no styles.

see-hidden is 8 rp's, thats a passive skill, true sight costs 10 rp's and lasts for around 60 seconds and gives the same sight you get for 8 ra's passively, on a 30 mins timer i might add.

this adjustment to assasins will only hurt the "flavour of the month" assasins, those who rolled them to be uber and will now leave alb to join hibby.

Yeah, like we need more qc 9 sec stuns when people roll to flavor of the game realm...

Hope Mythic removes IP from all but pure and light tanks... Try killing a skald even if get PA in, they'll just insta-mezz you and use FA/IP and are back to full health - no chance to assassinate. Great going Mythic!

You guys got absolutely no sense of what you all are talking about i can only classify most of you as total retards!!!... After spellcrafting comes out everyone will have close to max melee resists and max con etc, that will mean longer fights and thereby in itself somewhat nerf the NS Infils and SBs since their first attack Perf will be of less consequence to the outcome. And for anyone to believe we run around with 70 percent evade well I dont even want to comment on that, what this will mean is that high rlm rank hunter for example will be able to kill Nightshades and infils even if they jump him!!! one thing is that see hidden was a mistake another is to cap the evade skill and take away ip. all archers with high realm points will be allmost immune to rogues when they have their ip since they will survive perf stun attack, and i thought the purpose of rogues were to take out archers and casters.

what patch is this aimed at - or is it just something that will happen "overnight" (no-patch releated)
EDIT: saw it was in 1.56b atm.

This means my Shadowzerker will be all but ineffective now :/ - was specced with high dodger in mind but now and staying power in combat - oh well, guess See Hidden is back in the RA list. (don't mind loosing IP as much though - never have been interested in going solo against tanks)

I agree with many in this thread - it is all thoese buff-bot assassins running around, whom can go up vs. a pure tank in meele, that have ruined it for the rest of us.


Maybe I should just roll a 3 char. - getting tired of my SB anyway.

I can only speak for a scout now. You still have purge, and this will disable our 9-sec & 4.5(repeat) shieldstun. And you getting PA in, those fights we will probably loose :eek:.

Rangers have some better melee abilities tho.

Do you think rasonable lose 1ws1 as armsman rr6 whit 1671-1719 hits unbuffed (and slash resistance maxed )against random shadowzerkers?
I doubt that was the intention of Mithic at start:atm evade VII+dodger+hight quick/dex give them better defenses than a pali in plate.
This patch nerf the obviously most powerfull classes of this game,
and it 'll force them to spec as pure assasins again,not like tanks animore.


p.s:but one thing is true,in front of so radical changes all assasins classes should get a full respec.

Roflmao at this ridicolous post made by a child whose selfishness and egocentrism prevent him to see the reality of the facts:
he whines cause he 'll not be able to solo 3 casters at time animore;he whines cause no one powerlivelled his infiltrator;
he whines cause he didn't plan to get see hidden so its unfair when an archer uses truesight on him (maybe its also unfair when an enemy uses ip against him and he still have not his one back).
I m surprise you didnt remind us how much you helped your realm in the past or how often ppl were bad whit you.
The toy is broken and the kid whines..I wish Goa 'll give you a ras discount so hopefully you 'll not annoy us for a while.
