My girlfriend visits two gyms regularly and she took me along. Both of them really freaked me out. I don't know what it was - probably felt too self-conscious, being a skinny bloke.

I imagined everyone was looking at me in my crap shorts thinking "no prizes for guessing why he's here" even though I know nobody gave a shit.

Or maybe it was the sight of everybody siting/standing/lying on these huge black machines staring at huge TV screens with little headphones on.

Perhaps it was just too much like PE at school, except with a plush decor and restaurant.

Couldn't hack it for long and hid in the pool while m'lady did her stuff. Never going back. Am I the only one who feels like this?

Well, in all honesty, you have an issue with your self image, as you acknowledge that you felt self-consious about being skinny.

I think you'd feel better about yourself if you started going regularly and built yourself up a bit. Hey, it can only do good - being healthy :D

Everyone feels self consious when they join a gym. I've been going for years, and I still feel like that when I join a new gym. I took a 8 month break (personal issues just before xmas and onwards) and I became a podgy cunt, and when I rejoined i felt horrible. Felt like everyone was staring at me.

You soon come to realise that everyone is either too consious about themselves to be worrying about you, or too into what they are doing. There are quite a few 'dubious' characters at my gym, including this one geezer who must be about 25 stones. I could tell he was a bit scared when I saw him down there so I went over and chatted with him. Now, whenever he's down there I help him and he spots me :D

Get a new pair of shorts, or some jogs and you won't worry about that any more either :D Makes fuck all difference, but if it bothers you do it. Won't cost more than a tenner. If you're worried about being skinny jogs would proably be best.

Anyway, need a morning coffee ;) Hope it works out

Oh yeah, and go with a mate if you can. Helps to take your mind off the paranoia that everyone is gorping at ya. And get one of the personal trainers in the gym to work a program out for ya based on what you want to do (I see moderate cardio to get your CV fitness up, and a high resistance weights workout to bulk you up, as you are obviously well toned already). That way they will take you round the machines you will be using, show you how to use them, work out how much you can pump and then how much you need to be doing in your regime based on your max 1 rep :D

The machines don't seem half as scary once you know how to use em!

Fit and healthy maybe, but to get big muscles you have to pump the iron and take steroids, which while they increase your muscle size actually do reduce penis size - the painful comprimises.

There was a survey a few years ago that showed some results of what women actually prefer in a man.

Most don't really go for looks, obviously there is a need for instant attraction but usually the mans personality and confidence are the elements which determine his success. Basically as long as the man isn't totally repelent he's in with a chance.

Obviously all women do have a preference when it comes to looks, shape etc and most don't go for really muscley guys. Apparently women prefer slim guys as while clothed weight-lifters simply look fat or chubby, with no neck and overall look quite oafish.

Yay! I'm a slim guy so I'm loved by all!

I have no personality whatsoever, though.

10 quid says you're either really fat, or really skinny.

And no, 90% of us don't take steroids.

And no, 90% of us don't want to look like Chris Benoit

And no, I pull more than a motherfucker

Any one tested creatine, I heard lots of things about it some saying its the fastest thing other than steroids to help your grow and some say its the fastest way to empty your wallet .

I do use it and whilst training feel like a fukin hard bastid but I don't know if this is creatine or just natural
