It always strikes me that the people who want to sit there and tell me I'm not entitled to my opinion are the uneducated idiots who WILL NOT listen to anything different incase someone should hear them! Its like this stupid bint i met in the union last week, sitting there shouting about how a rage against the machine song that came on is shit and how its all about dying or something. This angers me because if she took more than 1 second before judging it she would realise they are one of the most intellegent bands around to listen to and it has NOTHING WHAT SO EVER about dying? What are these fucking people on? Those of you who sit there and say similar things without ACTUALLY LISTENING TO THE FUCKING MUSIC are all the same, and can promptly be struck down with various things, for one, aids.
Perplex being an exception to this rule as he on occasion listens to nirvana and some other decent stuff

I do not like slipknot in their current incarnation, their very first album called mate feed kill repeat was actually quite good and showed off the fact there are musicians under all that getup. You might have been able to mix in 10 minutes but thats the very basic and easiest thing about DJ'ing that you learn. It takes years to get "good" (like playing guitar does, for instance).
I've been DJ'ing 7 years and there's stuff that DMC DJ's do that I still can't get my head round.
As for being force fed it by your mates, don't blame us and don't get het up about, it won't do you blood pressure any good at all. I know all about Malmsteen thankyou very much because I have a wide appreciation of music which means, in terms that you might be able to understand, I can listen to pretty much anything and enjoy it.

Of course I realise some people enjoy other types of music that I dont like. Its a bit hard to ignore. From 8am each day through to when my head hits the pillow all I hear is fucking thumping bass from dance/trace music tracks. Theres not a single bit of variation in anyone of them. I personally can not see anything worth listening to in the music, and that is why I HAVE MY OPINION.
I have not mentioned once people shouldnt listen to any sort of music, but frequently people have taken the piss out of what I might like to listen to, and you have the nerve to say I dont have an open mind?

The songs are shallow and meaningless.
They have no lyrical content worth listening to.
They are good to dance to but the majority of the people i know dont fucking dance, they sit and listen to it, while their brain no doubt rots.
It means something to me, the skill and difficulty a peice of music takes to play, so when i listen to something that repeats every 0.5 seconds with a shit oh-so-predictable keyboard melody, and shit samples, I tend to get the slightest bit wound up.

MY opinions on the music you enjoy listen to, are just that, my opinion. You calling me a prick for stating what I think is basically saying I dont have the right to one, so I think you should think more carefully before saying anything else.
And also people like me who listen to my type of music, and go to metal / alternative clubs are generally the more open minded and intellegent individuals I find. You dont see any fights, or people getting picked on because of how they look where I go, also there are no townie cunts ready to pick a fight because you may have looked at them previously.

Funnily enough I disagree with Staz (this agreeing lark couldn't last forever mate ).
Personally I find mainstream trance/house about as talented and diverse as sitting on the can. However I am willing to see its qualities, they just arent qualities I look for in music. I do like the odd dance track (Im listening to Flawless as I type this and have Delerium on queue), but I'll take some guitar led music any day of the week. I am quite partial to the "alternative" dance music, such as Fluke, FSOL, Prodigy, Chemicals, Leftfield and Orbital. And drum'n bass 0wns hard.

Their problem, not yours and certainly not mine either. I know plenty of people like that and I sit and wonder why. But listening to dance music isn't a crime that I know of. Why are the tracks shallow and meaningless? I agree that there is a lot of shit in the dance industry but thats due to money men within the scene.
The rock/metal scene has had that problem for years, hence a huge pile of shit that comes from that camp too.
A decent dance track moves you, hence the fucking title of dance track.
If you practice long enough there's nothing that is difficult. Anyway, this point I refer to the answer I gave earlier. There is a lot of shit, but the good stuff ain't shit. And like I also said earlier, getting wound up about it ain't good for blood pressure/ grey hair/stomach ulcers or anything else.
If dance music annoys you that much then ffs get a life and chill out. Country and Western music is very high on my don't-like-at-all list but it doesn't bother me like dance music bothers you.
I'm not calling you a prick for stating your opinion, I'm calling you a prick for flaming anyone that likes dance music and calling the entire scene, of which you know fuck all about, a load of shit.
