I think Tory HQ know very well she'd not come across well at any debate. Their manifesto would also be torn apart as she flaffs.

I think they'll take the hit of her being seen as a coward. Better that than a laughing stock. Plus, the tories personal attacks on Corbyn won't go down well on TV - whereas in the papers that's not a terrible tactic.

He also has a sense of humour where he can laugh off questions, and possibly dodge questions a great deal easier than May can. May has that deep stare, use first names and repeat the same shit over and over again.
