Yeah..I meant that as a rolleyes...
She has back pedalled and tbh I 'm a bit suspicious of the route from annoyed person to spouting off on TV.
There will have been a lot of egging on from production crew, the entire system is just bolox on all sides.

Sadly it seems to be all the rage to try and add the food bank line to confrontations with MP/MSP which kind of invalidates that persons whole argument when proven not true, it also negatively impacts the food bank issue for those who genuinely need to use food banks.

That was the claim she was married to a Tory counciller, it seems hes just a boyfriend...I'm just waiting for someone to check her benefits against her living status.

Exactly Job, rather than look into it properly they have just left it with a story that implies the SNP are a set of bastards.

Standard BBC. They're the Daily Mail with less tits, ghosts and cancer scares.

I think the fact that they are lying is pretty obvious, its what they do. However it is a little unfair to pick on those two parties, all parties are lying.

I've just had the most idiot discussion of my entire life....

I'm not a smart man, I generally do research things (important things) however, and adhere to the facts over speculation (with exception of speculation being truly exceptional)

anyway! cutting that shit, we had a few friends over for a BBQ earlier in our garden and I was absolutely gob-smacked when the GF of one of my long time friends said this to me

"Jeremy Hunt is good for the NHS, he has good intentions with the NHS and will see it remain in public hands to help the needy."

I spent the next 45 minutes trying to hammer it into her head, that he'd co-wrote a book on how to DESTROY the NHS... she just wouldn't have it, the final straw was when she said this

"I read in the Daily Mail..."

Before she could finish I threw a fucking sausage at her... waste of a good sausage, was a fucking expensive bratwurst

Wow, you sound fun to be around. What happened to just disagreeing with people without throwing food at them?

Oh and BTW, I have a family member who works in the NHS. She says if Labour get in again she will be leaving, after the damage they did last time (reduced GP hours overloading A n E, overloading staff with targets, etc). Oh and her local hospital was Stafford....

As opposed to nurses having to use food banks and multiple hospitals being closed and the very real prospect of the NHS being SOLD to private firms, your family member must be a bit of a plank if she thinks that's better.....

You face palmed? I am I wrong? or do you think the above is a good thing for the NHS? or was the face palm just a response because you've literally got nothing to back up what the Conservatives are doing to the NHS atm?... guessing the latter.

You mean like about 10 years ago when all GP Surgeries (and Dentists) became private enterprises?

Thanks for calling my sister a plank though. Appreciated.

Ya dick.

Oh no no no, you don't get out of this that easily by simply stating the past - the past is gone, we don't live there anymore, this is about the future and what is to come, now stop running away and answer... Do you think the Conservatives are good for the NHS?

p.s yes, I'm a dick, a very blunt one.

Just a dick imo.

But I'll take the opinion of someone who actually works there over someone who sits at home and reads The Canary in his pants.

Again

Do you think the Conservatives are good for the NHS?

Or just admit you're dodging the question and we'll move on.

Personally I think the NHS in its current guise is unsustainable, and eventually we'll have to consider moving to a European model, with state care complemented with private insurance.

I also think we should put it into a Trust like the BBC, and take it out of politicians handa altogether. I can only see one party doing that, so yes, in the long run I think they would be.

But if that doesn't happen, and we find private companies can provide a similar level of care, for less outlay, and it's still free at the point of use - what's the problem? You might even find thte staff get paid better as well.

So basically what you're saying is, condemn the majority of the country to absolute debt-ridden poverty, because that's what will happen if the NHS falls. You and your sister for that matter despite working in the field cannot begin to comprehend how many people rely on the NHS, unless your sister has a respectable amount of experience in her field I think I'll believe the countless doctors and surgeons that have come forward and denounced the Conservatives over her.

Hmm. I'm not seeing millions in debt ridden poverty in Scandinavia or the Netherlands, both of whom use the model I suspect we will have to move to.

But keep up the emotive bollocks, makes your points all the more valid!

It wouldn't go to an EU model, though? there was already talks in place for US firms getting hold of various NHS entities, do you really think they'd just sever ties and magically convert to a European model? naive much?
