Why isnt it called judophobia?
The wording suggests people affected are afraid of Muslims but actively hate jews.
All subtly done to reinforce the idea they are more oppressed.

I suppose it's easier to list all the people you hate using one word at the end.

Johnson to be investigated over burka row

Ignoring who wrote the original column, does any one else find it deeply disturbing that the Met Commissioner started informally investigating a joke, despite no complaints being made by the public?
Absolutely. It's utterly unsurprising though as you only have to look around this forum to understand how many of the brits & europeans simply don't get freedom of speech, what it is, and what it means.

Annoyingly it's the far-right who campaign hardest on freedom of speech - not because they remotely understand the principles - but because they don't want to get locked up for being utter, utter wankers and want to spout their hateful bile, without comeback.

Having said that - what I find as disturbing as the situation regarding this investigation is the fact that there are enough knuckle-dragging nationalistic morons who want to see the burka banned for nonsensical reasons (which they think are absolutely bob-on), and will actually vote for this wanker when he finally makes his bid.

Freedom of speech is desparately needed. A massive increase in educational level population-wide is also needed because free speech + morons = Boris.

Any investigation will simply increase support for his stance.
A cynical me would say they are doing it for that very reason.

If this was such an issue, why isn't it addressed as a covering your face issue rather than an anti-Islam issue?

I mean people say 'I can't walk around with a balaclava on'

Yeah you can, you'll probably raise suspicion but you can.

Or more accurately: An investigation will be used by wankers as an excuse to get more firmly behind him.

Because they want to get as firmly behind him as possible, because they hate muslims.

Basically - he's got your vote.

Are you under the impression that the vast majority of british dont agree with him and think they are ridiculous.
Even an Imam has come forward to call them unislamic.
He knows that..they know that...its just a game being played out .

I think you're under the impression that the vast majority of british give a fuck, other than a sizeable nationalistic wanker minority with low IQs thst are easily mobilised by using their prejudices...

I do wonder though, why people who want to ban the burqa would vote for Boris, considering he said the in the article he wouldn't ban it himself? Wouldn't that be more likely to appeal to us libertarians, who were happy for women to wear them as long as they are happy for us to take the piss?

Like they get bogged down in that sort of detail. They'll take the signal of his lurch to the right and that's enough for them.

It'll make the Ukippers feel more moderate.

Yougov poll for who would make best PM:

Dunno: 39%
May: 36%
Corbyn: 22%
Won't say: 3%

Corbyn comes a distant third behind worst PM in living memory and no-one.

Free speech comes with consequences.
The left are free to call for his head...and strengthen his position in doing so.

You aren’t in agreenent of that building resistance to take offense is the right way to go? I think it seems reasonable to have a healthy discussion

Nah, Scouse agrees with him.

I have an issue with Freedom of Speech; it originally was formed as a concept so you could freely criticise groups that hold power and to hold them accountable.

Whilst I love the principle in the modern age you can freely spout lots of bullshit all over the place and the sheeple just lap it up as if it is gospel.

There needs to be a way to regulate social media sites, especially Facebook so that 'fake news' is somehow filtered out, perhaps have a tool that could some how be used to assess the reliability of some sources.

I mean, this is becoming more and more of an issue, I've had to remove so many people from Facebook because their stupidity bewilders me.

"One firm commitment I make to people who join our Labour Party is that you have a real say, the final say in deciding on the policies of our party... No-one – not me as Leader, not the Shadow Cabinet, not the Parliamentary Labour Party – is going to impose policy": Corbyn, 2015.

2018 and Corbyn is still trying to keep Brexit policy off the agenda in the conference because he knows the party membership opposes his policy by a huge margin. Hypocritical twat.

A wedding speech for a holocaust 'denier'.
The only reason the Tories arent going full batshit on Corbyns ass is because anyone ekse would be far greater threat in the voting booth.
They have called for him to go today..because it would impolite not too.

Well, yes, but in Israel itself. A majority @Wij - but definitely a sizeable minority dislike him. It was ever thus.

The Beeb's getting a hammering on those tweets isn't it.
