See what's going on in Spain? Fuck me, old people being violently man-handled as they try to exercise democracy.
Agree with everything apart from them "exercising democracy" when they're anything but.

What does junker and merkel have to do with this mess in spain?

Edit as an added bonus if they had taken any action or tried to force spanish government to do something different you would be screaming from the rooftops about an EU dictatorship

They pushed us to leave which gave other independence votes across Europe a big boost.
Catalonia is a direct result from Brexit.

Yes because Catalonia have never even thought of being independent until Brexit happened.

I think the Scottish independence stuff had more of an impact on Catalonia than anything.

No....it would be brexit...because we voted out.
I know you dont like it, but it is a thing..a huge thing and had reinvigorated nationalists and right wingers all over Europe.

Yup. Pretty much a complete mess. Disgusting way to treat people that want to determine their own future.

Amazed to see that 95% of the vote went ahead unhindered.
As usual media blowing scale of disturbance out of proportion, if the vote is yes then Catolonia will 'officially' declare independence.
The EU is saying fuk all.

Oh, it has everything to do with the EU now, their silence says everything..if this was playing out in France they would be all over it.

How? Why? Exactly.

Build an argument, don't just say "because".

It's not an EU matter, but as with any government (ours included) they should be condemning the actions of the Spanish government.

Jesus, some of the highlights from the labour conference. Full retard.

Fucking depressing, people that want to piss my money up the wall on terrible ideas vs people who want to spend it on golden toilets for their mates.

I wonder if I can just not pay tax any more and refuse to participate?

Yes..and they went for it illegally because of the changed political landscape after Brexit..I know most people here sort of hate the UK, and think that mainland Europe has some sort of moral and intellectual superiority..but no, we have had a huge effect on Europe, but that doesn't fit a lot of peoples 'little Englander' liberal bullshit.
Just waiting for Basque to wade into it now.

I hated that I quite enjoyed the political speech by Ruth Davidson yesterday. Actually spoke a lot of sense with the right amount of humour. I need a shower now even thinking about it :)

There is nothing illegal about a successful revolution.

Which may well happen.

Its actually not unlike London calling for independence from the UK, both areas put a lot more into the economy, of course thats simply because all the surrounding areas get brain drained into it.
Or your head declaring independence from your feet...what do I need those smelky feet for...Im the brains here.

Trouble is, those that actually live there do not make the money.

What you probably mean is the City of London, which very few people live in at all, comparatively speaking.

The City of London is already effectively separate from the UK. All sorts of separate laws govern it and it's pirate tax status.

Dude, Catalonia have wanted to be independent for god knows how many decades (literally since before EU even existed!) and have been working towards that goal for almost as long as it's been a part of Spain. This vote has fuck all to do with England...

Do you even read my posts.
Or just skim the first line then fill in your own ideas.
One of the first fears of Brexit was an increased co fidence in independence claims over the EU...Im not saying ...this is tiresome...that they thought of independence because of brexit..it just changed the landscape for them to end up in this situation.
