To be fair it was a total mismatch. Professor vs Journo on his specialist subject.

Job must be utterly conflicted. He's putting one over on a woman, but he's an expert, so he's to be despised. :)

What should be mentioned here is that he did actually listen and adapted his output to what she...inputted. He was ready to debate fairly and seemed to search for common ground. She was just initially going by script and then basically threw it out the window and raged.

The key here is not her being a woman, but a clueless twat, and a rude one at that. Were going to say 'As Job', but he's not really rude.

The misquote and bait mentioned by @Hawkwind is quiet common in politics just to smear the opponent when both parties are throwing numbers and statistics at each other (at least in Sweden), it feels off, as both parties prepared their own speech which doesn't resonate with each others, as it just feels both are going by script.

This strategy doesn't work with this guy, as he actually has relevant knowledge and will fuck you up if you spout shit.

Not at all. He's articulating the findings of evidence. He explicitly states that in the interview.

When the evidence is uncertain he's very careful to be explicit that there is a grey area there. He again explicitly states that he uses very specific language in the interview - because language matters hugely.

He's the exact opposite of you tbh Job. But because you lack the education to spot the difference it just likes two people arguing to you rather than what actually happened - the journalist was schooled.

No..you smarmy git, its his take on evidence..all put together to justify his theory.

Because you graduated with an F in woodwork that's what you think...

For example - on what basis do you assert that is evidence is only anecdotal? That's just supposition and opinion. Not factual assertion.

Please, we don't use levels anymore, it might upset people.

We now use numbers because they're nice and fluffy.

Do you have evidence to backup your opinion?

Do you understand the difference between the two?

Hint: Just stating the same thing again doesn't make it real.

Its reasoned conclusion based on factual evidence from various source studies. From everything I've read on that very complex and emotional issue it is about as factually correct as you can get. He also made a good job of stating its complexity. If you reduce all that to just "an opinion" then we are totally fucked discussing anything with any certainty. :)
