Well you'd have to get your parents to do it as well, as your not 18 yet.

Aso buying on finance is fine as long as you know your spending limits and can afford the repayments.

You see.. a better way for me would be pay upfront, then finance back into my bank :p That way I don't technicly owe anybody any money :p

I lied, its 36 month finance. Just waiting for the forms to come so I can sign them and fax them back.

Upon further reading of the neowin thread, it appears Dell's 3 year warrenty (US) includes a swap out service if your panel has any dead pixels. Hope they do that in the UK.

I bought it up front. I don't buy stuff I can't afford.

I can afford to buy it upfront, but I would rather have cash to spend on going out this month.

I have the cash for my next system. I'm just trying to make up my mind on whether it will be worth it.

Judging you previous spending habits, I'd say no.

You'll buy it, there will be problems, you won't be satisfyed by it anyway and then you'll be spending more on the next best thing.

well screen arrived on saturday so quick review on the Hyundai Image Quest D70+ bits.

Things is light..very light, put together easy enough.
The monitor itself has a very small edge to it, the base is suitably small yet stable.
The buttons for the monitor are under the lower right edge...found them a little annoying to start but just need to press them firmly.
Took me a secodn to realise but the monitor will turn 90' for a portait view.

Has the normal analog and didgital inputs. It also appears to have a headphones 'in' and 'out' on the back, although i didn't test this as i use a mic on my headset aswell.

Overal its a nice looking thing, i got my australian house mate in and he deemed it 'Aww cool mate'

Onto performance.

I tried the scroll page of text thing...although it was moving pretty quick i was able to read text as it went by..someone asked that one.

Loaded up NS and had a storm around, after spending ages getting the brightness contrast settings right for NS [dark areas really are 'dark' now] i had soe pretty good games, didn't notice any ghosting in regular play, ofc i still couldn't keep up with those goddam skulks whizzing past me :(

Played WoW on it aswell worked perfectly.

Image quality @ 1280 res was perfect, a nice clean crisp image pin sharp....kinda annoying as now it shows the jagged edges in games :(

All in all a very good scren, higly recommend it.

I'll see if i can find my digi cam cable when i get home and take some pictars.

Right, I haven't signed my Credit agreement yet, and I have more questions first.

I wanted to use the Dell screen to display HD content as well, if I use 720p or 1080i modes, what kind of distortion or focus problems can I expect.

I don't fucking believe it.

No dead pixels that I can see, and the backlight issue isn't as bad as I thought it was. Fucking brilliant. Now I just need to see if my computer can cope with the increased resolution at the same settings, and test the ghosting.

A slight scare at the beginning when it was booting up as D-SUB, but I pressed some random buttons and it picked up my DVI. I'm a real man. I don't read manuals!

Apart from the fact that most Plasmas can't handle HDTV resolutions, the ones I've seen do tend to look nicer than LCD televisions. But, Plasmas have been around for years, LCD TVs are relatively new. I'm betting that Aldi will be selling Bush Plasmas for £200 in a few months.

I doubt it. I plugged my PS2 in with the S-Video cable. It was a bit fuzzy. It looked alright with picture in picture, but then it was a bit small.

I can try writing a review, but then I would have to learn - err - how to write reviews.

So no good for ps2/xboxing? No way to force display resolutions from the OSD menu?

I dont have a console myself, but surely they will all look crap on a high res display ? I mean, they are optimised for TV where the sharpness and detail is pretty poor on the whole - why waste a boxes resources by writing games in detail higher than found on a tv screen?!?

You get to chose 'small', 'medium' and 'large'. It looks a bit fuzzy on each of them, getting less as it gets smaller. I'll try a DVD later. And I'll try the composite thing that looks like the TV-out on a graphics card.

Further to Gale's quick review of the Hyundai D70+ I've just received the Hyundai L90D+ 19".

First of I think all of Gale's comments regarding the physical side are equally applicable to the L90D+. I'd describe the buttons under the bottom right of the screen as being rubber bumps or nipples tbh.
My screen has no dead pixels that I can identify so much rejoicing.
OCUK came through in the end after admitting that the screen I had ordered they still didn't have in stock I opted to upgrade to the Hyundai.

I've plugged it into the analogue output of my laptop atm and set it at 1280 resolution. I've tried out the banding jpg as mentioned on the OCUK thread linked to earlier. I can clearly see the banding at 16 bit colour. At 32 bit colour this is much reduced such that I wasn't sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me. The banding can more clearly be identified by scrolling the image though.

Fast scrolling of text in a word document seems to indicate no blurring but is limited by my ability to read while fast scrolling!

I've not installed the correct drivers yet, adjusted the colours, plugged it into DVI or played any DVD's or movies on it but once I get home I'll try all of the above and let you know :)

My monitor has started exhibiting some strange behaviour. Turned it on yesterday and got a thin vertical line for a picture. A swift whack to the side cured it.

Probably a dry joint, but hopefully I won't have to buy a new monitor if I can find it.

Yes. You don't throw £500 monitors away without attempting repairs.
