Firstly my apologies.
The stability of the forums over the last few days has been particularly awful. Part of the forum is hosted in Germany and this is where my trouble begins.
For some reason the dedicated server (for MySQL) just hangs and all I can do is powercycle. Not a problem persay except that it always wants to corrupt the "post" table which currently runs at just over 4gig including the indexes. Needless to say it takes a huge amount of time.
During the downtime this morning I have just finished repairing the database files and have moved the mysql instance off to another server in the hope that it will be much more stable.
In the meantime I need to try to understand why the server keeps hanging....
