FH news Forum upgrade and a new style

All,

As some of you may know the FreddysHouse forums currently use a style known as UI.X, whilst this has been usable from a users perspective it is a nightmare to maintain when upgrading the forum software to later versions. Therefore the decision has been made to move to a different style (from another vendor) which should allow the forum software to keep relatively up to date.

In order for this to happen the forums will be shut for an extended period of time, hopefully only a few hours, whilst the relevant software is updated and the new style implemented. Without a doubt there will be some snagging issues with the new style so if you stumble across any please post them in this thread where they will be tracked and worked upon. This only applies to the style named "FA+ - FreddysHouse Green 1.5.0".

Xenforo 1.5.x offers the following:

• Thread tags
• Profile post improvements including the ability to like, search etc
• Security improvements including built in two factor authentication in the core

If you wish to see the new style and software in action then simply follow these steps:

1. goto https://testforums.freddyshouse.com
2. HTTP user: test HTTP password: letmesee
3. You can use your existing login (snapshot of testforums taken in October, 2015)

It caused me to appear as not logged in, and when I did try to login it threw a "security exception" error box.

Which style are you using? The old green style is extremely close to this one. The "light" style still has a bit of work to do on it.

@Deebs how about the s9e Media BBCodes Pack to allow us to embed gfy/gifv/mp4 HTML5 videos similarly to Youtube vids (I think they will be embedded as an image rather than media)?

Looks good! I don't know if you'd want to tidy up the "media" dialog box (the list of supported websites), it has gone from having about 6 sites to about 60.

What am I missing, the light style is the same on both forums now, its different to how it was. Un read threads need to be more obvious

Clickable links are not showing as highlighted in the light style, they show as yellow in the green, but they are just black text in the light, the same as the surrounding text
