Is there a way I can help? Perhaps adjust the css so that we can have a brown theme aswell? :<

Of course. Have you done anything with XenForo before as I can give you access to the admin area to make the style changes....

If you know CSS you will be absolutely fine.

edit. Actually you do not even have to know CSS, just be able to use a web browser.

For some reason it's a shit like brown colour. Clearly you meant it to be green, I'll accept your finger slipped as long as you rectify this error right away.

I really do quite like xenforo, I've been looking around the test site and the new urban75 forums, it's quality.

Actually old.Osy just told me the theme is way too brown and that it should be red "clay" like. Ill have a look at it when time permits (not sure that it will). Did notice some (well very little) difference when I looked at it from my crt screen.

If I get the time I wouldnt mind redoing it a little (ie. make another style). Atleast if Deebs permits it. Can always throw away the one that people really don't like.

Of course you can. I'll create a new style. Leave the old one as is.

If anything I'd say it's too "bright", too many red's and oranges and not enough muddier brown shades. Not easy on the eyes as it stands - I'm never going to use anything but green though, so not sure if you care what I think :)

Constructive feedback is welcomed Chet, even from you :)

This might help, comparing it with the current DAoC theme on these forums:
  • Background is slightly too dark
  • The text on the lighter bars (Search forums, What's new) is bleeding making it hard to read
  • Link text isn't quite orange enough

Also - the style selector on current forums doesn't seem to work for me in Chrome (hence the IE testing)

Ahh easier with jingle's pic - the contrast between the colours on your new theme is too high.

Jingle - chrome add-ons? I can use the style changer here with chrome.

The new one is better. This can be a good time to improve the DAoC theme instead of just bringing over the same crap.

Although, I agree with the shadowing being a bit off, but that's the same in the FH theme.

You're probably right - I can't stand the theme and use the green at home and the slightly more discrete default at work. Need to find how many actually use that theme and get them to provide feedback

Meg has been working on a "Light Green" style. Perhaps I should make it available for feedback....

I think you should open up a theme competition Tony, see what people come up with.

Cheers for the feedback guys. At first I nearly did have an exact copy of the old theme, but someone rightly (atleast I think so) noted that it doesnt or shouldnt be an exact copy of the old one.

Cheers for the picture btw JingleBells. And yes I agree the text on the bar is hard to read. I fiddled with it but when I made it darker it just gets worse (shading) lighter seems to work, but... O well.

@Ch3tan It whas actually a choice of mine to make the contrast so hard. When (if) I make the new one ill have a look at this aswell.

Open it up mate, I've not had a chance to touch it in a month (Dad went back under the knife for a second op and missus just out of the hospital this weekend).

I think the colour levels are about right for a light theme on the actual threads but I had a mare trying to get them to replicate across the entire forum.

One of the most important things as a designer is good use of contrast. Make sure you keep plenty of it :)
