Lol, whoops Nikon. Using footage from a 5D2 to promote the video capabilities of the D800 and then showing a clip from The Art of Flight (which is awesome btw) which wasn't even shot on a DSLR.
They then go on to mumble something about a higher resolution Nikon, it remains to be seen how they do head-to-head. There's a review I'm looking forward to.We've not really had our hands on a 5D Mark III long enough to do much more than scratch the surface of what it can do, but first impressions are extremely positive. It addresses the Mark II's most glaring weakness - its distinctly unimpressive autofocus system - in what on paper is the most comprehensive fashion possible, while adding an array of interface tweaks and improvements as well. It's at least as much of an improvement over its predecessor as the EOS 7D was over the 50D.
That is exactly how I see it.
I am not a "fast" upgrader (I still use a 5D for landscapes & portraits and a 1DMkIIn for sports) and, with my background and for my needs, the 5DMlIII is the perfect camera.
Since all my gear is still working perfectly, I'll wait a few more years (2 or 3) and replace my 5D+1DMkIIn by a 5DIII once it goes bellow €2000 (yes, I am also cheap... and an amateur...).
Then I'll be set for the next 10 years..
Will be interested to see how the in-camera HDR stuff works.
Yeah, like face recognition and all that shite. It'll only apply to JPGs and you'd be able to do it better yourself with the proper software. Imo, it's a gimmick.
I don't really need to focus fast, so what should I do? Get a 5D2 now and wait for the 5D3 to drop in price or just get the 5D3? That way I will end up with two awesome cameras!
You need a photo project. Acquire this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Photo-Proje...=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1331145791&sr=1-7So it's good at high and low ISOs? Fantastic.
How do you guys get motivated to go out and shoot stuff when you have no specific objects/locations in mind? Want to get out and shoot film but don't know what to do with it.
Might have to start shoving it in my work bag and seeing what I can do en route to work, only problem is I don't think the underground is particularly good for shooting without a tripod, and there's so much cool stuff on it.
