If I get it, will probably play a tarutaru white mage, because I normally play big "Arrr! I'll bash yer brains out wiv me big 'ammer!" type chars, and fancy a change, and because those little blighters are irresistabley cute.

yeah i think they do guild sortoff things but they called linkshell and i think u can have link shell armour, instead of emblems on robe and shield, u can have it all on ur armour

Its essential that we get this world ID thing sorted before anything tho

I suggest getting 5 people's e-mails and then one person from the is the designated world ID for them and then another 5 etc etc depending on how many of us there are

This is kinda snowballing with excitement

you know you can only inivte 5 ppl to the server a week, so inorder to get more to join one of the 5 is gunna need to get another worldpass, and continue it.

Anything can be anything I believe as long as you do the required quest

However when you move up to the specialist jobs you start at lvl 1 again and have to work your way up through that job

Not that hard but its gonna be great fun

If not we jack it in and go back to DAoC

so far i found http://www.ffxionline.com/ to have the most detail i could find, they've obviously taken alot of info from the current released Jap version.

the feedback that the curent jap/import community has given is broadly positive: overall people like the game, and there seem to be few complaints..

on the subject ofclasses it seems xxx/white mage is normal, the advantage of having some basic healing skill is pretty obvious: f.ex. a beastmaster/white mage is obviously a powerful solo character..

First u start from these base jobs:
black mage
white mage
red mage
monk
theif
warrior
then i think at level 18, u do a subjob quest to obtain a 2nd job so u can hold 2 at the same time but the subjob can only be half the level of ur main. e.g blm/whm is a very good combo.
yeah u can change to any job no matter what ur race is but im gonna stick wiv blm/whm all the way :O

I think I've figured it out:

To start, you pick a class:

• Warrior
• Monk
• White Mage
• Red Mage
• Black Mage
• Theif

Then, at lvl 18, you can pick a sub class, out of the six main classes. You can switch your sub class to your main if you wish, and back again, as many times as you like. However, your current sub class can only be half the skill level of your current main class. Eg- If I was a 10 WHM/4 SUM, and I switched Summoner to my main class, my White Mage skill would only be 2 (While Summoner was my main class).

I then gather, at lvl 30, you can choose an advanced class to be your sub, or main, out of:

• Paladin
• Bard
• Beastmaster
• Dark Knight
• Ranger
• Samurai
• Dragoon
• Summoner
• Ninja

I think that's it, but I might be a wee bit off on some of the details

*Oh, and I don't think there are any restrictions as to what combination of main/sub you have.
**And your sub class doesn't gain xp when you fight, so you have to change it to your main for a while to raise it.

I always preferred the Junction system of Final Fantasy 8 but It was never very popular.
FF 8 was always the best.

FFXI doesnt have materia, it does have synthsethis, crystals that can be inbued into weapons and armour to increase stuff

and FF3 (aka FF6) was by far the best , play it then see how much FF7 ripped it off.

Who cares about the graphics, the gameplay is like having pure, sweet, glowing honey dribbling down your throat.

Although, FFXI does look really prettiful - Not that my comp will be able to handle it
