That depends on many things ... Windows Firewall, Norton Internet Security, BlackICE, Zone Alarm, Hardware router ...

Click on the help link on the downloader and read through the advice that Blizzard has to offer.

Failing that, post your firewall name/brand/model in here and see if anyone is experienced with the particular item and can help.

can some1 help me? my download rate keeps jumping from 28kb/s to 2kb/s a second and everything between, while my upload rate is pretty constant at 28kb/s a second and only skips down 2 about 22k/bs a second.

i dunno if thats normal download speed or what, but im using zonealarm firewall, and i think the built in xp firewall (not on sp2 so i dont think it works coz didnt they fix it in sp2?)

how can i open up the ports i need pleasieieieieieieie

Offtopic: It's still an advantage to know the areas and some quests so you don't have to ask in /1 all the time like everyone else And it won't take away the fun about the game. And still both alliance and horde got several areas to do quests at the same level, so you could switch area and get other quests

there are quest sites for when you are stuck, dont need to bother people for that.

im on 512kb/s broadband, and i have no idea how torrent works :S im jusat downloading it from that program that i got from the link to the download site to the beta :S is there anything i can do to speed it up?

i put it at 10kb/s upload but it's enough to reach my full download of ~50kb/s down

You won't be able to. The 1.1.2 client features a new installer that's required for future updates. That's the "Full client download required for next patch" info that was on the WoW-Europe website a while ago.
