Two VERY good actors in Heat. Just... a good movie. That large bank robbery was very cool indeed, running around the city and all.

Strange. But.... this question is one of the hardest ever... movies that I like could all be #1 for me since all have their own special property that make me like them.

Alien & Aliens,
Lord of the Rings (plus the next two when they arrive),
The Terminator 1 & 2,
Gladiator,
American Pie 1 (Still got to see number 2),
Scary Movie 1 & 2 (Love the sequence where shorty becomes the human spliff for the cannabis plant),
Apollo 13,
Dune,
Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels,
The usual Suspects,
Young Guns,

Dr Strangelove (Gotta love the sequence where he rides the nuke down like a rodeo horse :D),

Eep, thats a long list and im only just getting warmed up :|. Oh well one last one that i cant remember the name of is the Sci-Fi flick from around the 70's I think where its got the Smart Bomb thats got a God complex and an alien that resembles a space hopper (Those bouncy things where you hold onto its eyes / ears and bounce around praying it doesnt burst).

I bet I could have a 10 times longer list than my first post in this thread... but I remember them after short intervals only and I am not going to make a post for an hour.
But for me QotD and Spider-man seem strangely good... I just... love 'em...

Same as Eleasias here, Memento Is a must see for anyone. One of the most shocking, strange and well done films EVER.

Memento was a master-piece tbh... unbelievably well done... just left you thinking.

I hated Momento after like the first few minutes. I stuck with it though and I'm glad I did.

The thing that I think is funniest though. If the film was played correctly in the right order, it would seem to be a really shit movie.

Best movies...
Aliens (2)
Event Horizon
Shawshank Redemption (spelling? ;) )

Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Stike Back (and yes, I often get mistaken for Silent Bob...)

The Star Wars series

Prophecy 1, 2, 3 (Christopher Walkens GREATEST role of all time, Arch-Angel Gabriel... how cool IS that man)

Matrix

thats my short list.... thats my desert island choice....

Coolest character in a movie ever?
Anyone have some ideas... I'd say some such as Blade go quite high... but then again maybe some LotR characters are pretty good... Sauron in FotR (the ring story part) was pretty damn awesome before his fingers got cut off...

Wanna see a movie that is: brutal/confusing/arrousing/life-based/funny(in a way)/pornographic/action packed and french (these guys make good movies) rent Baise Moi...

Quote from: OFFOFFOFF film review:

The raunchy and violent "Baise Moi" has been called the "French 'Thelma and Louise,' " but it's also an unflinchingly graphic update of the French New Wave and an intense film experience.

A lot has been made of the film's thin plot and excessive sex and violence. Simply put, the two women Manu and Nadine (Raffaella Anderson and Karen Bach) find each other coincidentally after their lives have been quickly made unbearable by a combination of men, drugs and guns. Naturally, they partner up, fool around, and then go on a "Natural Born Killers"-style road trip through France, this time without Oliver Stone and the MPAA to cut out all the good parts.

Don't watch it with the faint hearted cause the first couple of scenes set the trend for the rest of the film.

A movie u won't forget

I say it because you're a grown man, and somebody needs to break it to you. It was absolutely dire, managed to mangle a genre of film that is usually impossible to screw up (the humourously edged horror), had a soundtrack that sounded like it was made on a yamaha keyboard stolen from the 80's, and played by some of the worlds poorest music students, had a great cast and yet somehow still managed to be complete and utter lard.

If Damon Albarn hadn't been responsible for "Theres no other way" as well, I'd go back in time and cut off his hands at birth, so the world could be spared that monstrosity that was a sound track.

Of course your opinion may differ, but as a mod here, I am right by default ;)

PLINK!!
Hear that? That was my heart breaking /bursts into tears

Well, agreed- you can argue about the soundtrack.
Soundtrack is 50% of the movie in my opinion- I watched a DIV X version of "The Fast and the Furious" - no soundtrack at all. Was weird to watch (plus the movie sucked ass;)).

In the case of "Ravenous" it was fitting, though (in my opinion, of course).
Take "Boyd's journey" for example. The underlying, nearly subconcious dink dink dink sound (*grin* don't know how else to describe it) and the cajoun style main theme worked quite well to build up the tension for what was yet to happen:)

And the plot was great after all. The final conflict between Boyd and Hannibal Lecter's great grandpa was just g-r-e-a-t.
Never seen a battle quite so intensly and compassionately fought.

The characters were well drawn, too- just look at poor Boyd. I really felt pity for him.

*grin* Hard to argue with someone over their favorite movie, I know.

Oh- for all the Spiderman Fans... hehe... go and rent Mystery Men.
"I am the waffffflllleeeeeeer! Yeah!" That's all I say:)

Now face it Damini- you are wrong- I am right.
Now say:
He is right
I am wrong
He is right
I am wrong
He is right
I am wrong

Say it until you believe it yourself... ;)

[EDIT] Eep! Forgot one or two gems.
Gremlins and Indy III (was 14 when it came out... went into the theatre every day for about 2 weeks. Indy was my hero LOL)
