ok so lil update. my left shoulder is fubar: AC joint is tossy-3 and right on top of that the clavicle is separated. the hospital went ape shit and wanted to keep me there but after much discussion between Blonde Doctor (operate now!) and Brunette Doctor (conservative healing policies!) they decided to give me a week and then see if I am healing well enough to pursue Brunette Doctor's conservative strategy otherwise Blonde Doctor gets to poke me with sharp things. Booo :(

Scrubs instantly comes to mind, where the surgeons just want to slice ya up :D

Oh and pictures! Two lady doctors and no pictures :(

yes, I was thinking of Scrubs the whole time while they were having the discussion (*cough* fight) if they'd slice me up then and there or not.

The correct answer would've been; could you come over and show me how? ;)

We need to start a "crocked pool" - bet on which one of you lot is going to fall to bits next.

Nice idea DaGaffer.

Horrible pedals :D
Lies!

You're just jealous that by pure happenstance Eighteen Bikes had a pair of silver flats with blue spikes that match the frame.

/shoes :)

Interesting mudgard Tom.
Lovely bike although I'm surprised it uses an external BB (it'll be the first thing to break), I thought everyone was going over to the press fit BBs

Meh. I dunno. And I don't care! It's fucking ace! It's now in my kitchen after blatting me around a local country park.

I was at first a little bit underwhelmed (partly at the fact that I've been off a bike for a month and am clearly a LOT less fit) - but the first bit of downhill which I was always a little tentative with on my old bike I completely flew down. *Really* secure on it.

Can't wait for the Lake District in a few weeks time :D

My friend, who I stopped at after I had my most recent spat of body->road interface, just called me to say my helmet very likely saved my life as it is broken now. Scary stuff :(

I'll do you a deal. I promise to buy a helmet for my downhill biking weekends instead of my usual - which is shorts and a t-shirt and a manly beard.

Beards make great head protectors. Science said so, the other day, in the pub.

:)

Pretty good cracks tho there m8.

Did Grizedale in September. Loved it. We're camping a bit north (can't remember the name of the other one in the lakes) - but we'll definitely do that again.

Sherwood Pines is my local one - it's about 18 miles away on cycle route 6 - it's a poor-man's Grizedale, lacking the big fuck off hills. Still - it's a lot of pedal-powered fun and right on 6 - which generally for me means a nice long 60-mile round trip to Clumber Park.

I have quite an odd feeling on my head about the area of where that crack is in the pic. I strongly urge you to make use of a helmet...cheep and cheerful piss-pot for a tenner or 300 squids worth is up to you. That Cotic is an awesome bike and you will be doing things with it that possibly you've not done yet which will be totally cool but safety first, always!!

Balls to that, head west into the Peaks, there are a bazillion trails up there to ride on.

I'm now considering one of these:

Fuego.png

Mainly because as well as being a good, fast all-rounder, it can also carry a lot of kit (you can buy extra panniers to go on the sides). With the shitty weather so far this year I haven't been able to get the miles in so might not be able to do LEJOG, but I can certainly spend 2-4 days cycling across Wales on one of these.

It's nice. Weird looking in the extreme, but I do quite like it. The only question I have is this:

I haven't been able to get the miles in so might not be able to do LEJOG, but I can certainly spend 2-4 days cycling across Wales on one of these.
If I was to spend 2-4 days cycling across Wales I'd want to spend as much time as I could away from the roads and make my trip cross-country. Even if you don't fancy going up mountains wouldn't you want to keep away from the roads as much as possible?

Scratch that actually. You don't give a monkeys about roads, do ya :)
