If GOA really want to help their english customers they would sort this mess and talk to Mythic and transfer all characters to the US servers. Sure, its probably alot of work but dont come and say that its not possible. If GOA cant sort this then they clearly dont qualify as a game host at all.

Sorting this might not do wonders for their economy in the short term but saving their rep would most likley be a good long term investment.

GoA is a daughter company of France Telecom and this is one of the reasons why they (as a small publisher) don't give a shit about customers - they have money backing them up, they don't need to work for it.

It's beyond my comprehesion how Mythic made a deal with a former French telco monopolist for publishing and running a game in Europe. Biggest market in Europe was/is Germany and Germany had plenty of large publishers about that time (EA bought most of them later).

The hosting itself should have gone to some specialist company with servers in London, I mean Dyvet is almost empty and it still lags on my high end machine.

I've not seen any good pings from game servers in France in the last couple of years. One can only hope for War that the servers will be distributed among national data centres.

France has probably one of the worst infrastructures in Europe, I even remember a time when I was still playing UT, and one of our clan match rules was no french servers. And I remember french players always complaining about them having bad ping to servers outside france ;<

GOA does a job like a amateur in advertising and marketinguke:, lets look at EvE they have a great website, make TV shows and newspapers about their game.
EvE Manages +35k people in one world .... its the missing vision wich let DAOC die...and hope they make things better in WAR , but i think it will be again a game without a longtime vision.
