Why is it such an insult to be called homosexual? To be called something which is your sexuality can't really be termed an insult. However, I don't see why it should be an issue in Q2, anyway: how does it affect the way we play multiplayer games?

Doesn't bother me if anyone's gay really. It just reminds me of schoolboy humour when it was like the ultimate insult so it's funny in that sort of being-really-immature way if u get my meaining. Only thing that is worse than homophobic people is heterophobic people. The guys who think they are superior cos they are batty. Its like "Er no, there is actually something wrong with you which makes you want to ejaculate in a guys ass. Get over it". Everyone knows the type. "Its great to be gay, so much better than going out with women". I beg to differ.

It's not really, but it gets a massive response. It's all about people being insecure about their sexuality. You could call my gay till the cows come home, it wouldnt make it true. I'm confident of this so, being called a fag etc. doesnt bother me in the slightest. It does seem to bother Glynners though, which is the whole point i guess.

Why the obsession with anal sex? I don't like ejaculating in anyone’s ass (male or female). Many gay men don't. As to your other point, gay men cover the whole spectrum of types, and some may well feel that way. All I know is I fall in love with men, and form caring and loving sexual relationships with them. BTW, quite a few heterosexuals have anal sex, or so I'm lead to believe.

Good point. Most of my straight male friends are happy with their sexuality and don't care if they are called a fag (cos. they are seen with me, for example).

The intention rather than the actual language is the problem.

I could call someone a "fucking wanker" - but if he happens to be shagging some bint, but also manually stimulating her clitoris - I would be technically correct, but would I still be insulting him? More importantly - would he care?
