Corran said:No, you are merely clueless as to what official rulings are on certain situations such as that which has been a big issue throughout the tournament and been let go.
Can only think of 1 occasion out of hundreds in this world cup where the ref actually turned around and booked the player insisting on the opponent getting a booking for something.
This has been a world cup of cheats and fakers. It has been one the worst ones I can actually remember in modern history of major tournaments for that. The game has developed badly lately but no surprise when you look at FIFA. So many dodgy dealings going on in that place and when you look at Blatter it just gets worse.

He was one of the 3 lions, along with Ferdinand and Gerrard, who ran every inch of that pitch

You can be happy that England got so far.

Corran said:They didnt play well but that doesnt mean someone should get sent off for such a crappy reason, at least not when the ref originally decided that the free kick was enough. This is where it is clear that you have a total lack of understanding about the game (and some of its rules)
If you play enough football at a highly competitive level you begin to be able to read the referee easily. Most of them have tells as to what will do next after giving a free kick. This referee clearly had shown no further action till other players went and got involved.
Heres a tip back to you. Study some matches and watch the referee (portugal vs holland isnt a good one though). Over the course of the game you will clearly see the different reactions between a free kick, a yellow card and a red card. They almost always act in the same way for each.
Manisch Depressiv said:I don't care about other refs in other games. If you fail to see in a slow motion that he stomped on his balls on purpose then you need to watch closer and slower. The ref did a very good job. If you are such an expert on rules, why don't you apply for his position? Oh wait, being biased and getting personal on me because I called England a bad team (on which you agree) and called people acting in a very personal and digusting way against Ronaldo and the ref faggots, wouldn't allow you to be a ref anyway...
0 : 0 at the end of the game, it's lottery then. England never was good on penalties, should have trained more. Even with 10 men for ~60 minutes they looked good and kept coming and I thought they would do it, but if they needed the 11th man to win in penalty shoot-out, he should have played fair.
Rst said:On the bright side England now get rid of the worst coach ever, he looked at times on that bench not to have a clue what he was going to do next.
Poor match, poor ref, piss poor coach.
cHodAX said:Are you on fucking drugs? That fat **** Gerrard never bothered to track back once after England had counter attacked and then lost the ball. He was absmyl, he missed a penalty, wasted a ton of possesion and the only thing he did of note was get in behind the back four on two occasions and then failed to deliver a cross. Lampard was dogshit as well, another 4 shots off target from him but at least he ran to help out when we lost the ball after a counter attack. The only ones I feel sorry for are Hargreaves, Terry, Ferdinand and Carragher. The first 3 played like lions and poor Carragher ends up carrying the can for a game where he barely got a kick.
Rooney deserved a red card end of story, he got frustrated and he stood on his the guys bollocks, accident or not that is a red card. I am a massive Rooney fan (United too) I honestly don't believe it was an accident after looking at the slow-mo replay and the look on Rooney's face, he chanced his arm and got caught. Fair play to the ref, he had a good game and let it flow as much as any game can with all those divers in the Portugal side.
End of the day we went out because we always lose our bottle when it comes to penalities, no one is more gutted about it than me but the sad fact is that England can play like lions with 10 men for nearly an hour but the spot kicks come and our so called 'big-time' players let us down time and time again.
~Latency~ said:Very dissapointing, was an entertaining game!
Lampard was SO bad, worst tornament i've ever seen for a player, he's had the most shots of anyone in the tornament but didn't score once? Poor !
Portugal were diving quite a lot, don't expect more from a scumbag country so what can you do! The red card for rooney can be argued over but the ref didn't go for a red card or even yellow initially only showed that it's a freekick ? and then ronaldo RAN over like the looser he is to protest card, which is pathetic and what can you do, rooney reacted and got a red (harsh for a push which was deserved) :d
Don't see rooney and ronaldo playing well together again after that fiasco ;d
Too many players underperformed, if we won this game we would've lost the next to the teams playing WELL - after every game beckham or someone said "we didn't play as well as we'd of liked but we got the result" and after 4 games they NEVER IMPROVED so we should be pleased we got to that stage ;]
(a big FU to the dumbasses who gloat over england loosing - bitter about your looser country going out earlier in the compertition or just loosers?

Yes, I'm sure that's it.Dillinja said:England doesn't have a friend in the world, well maybe we have 1 or 2. As far as I know, there are 2 countries on this planet that like England. They are the USA and Canada. All we need to do is move our island thousands of miles west and nuke scotland and we will be fine.
Anyway, everyone hates England because we were once the greatest nation on the earth, less than a hundred years ago we controlled more land than any empire in the history of the planet, and that is something that their countries can never hope to achieve. It's exactly the same reason people dislike America. Everyone hates the top dog, even after the dog has fallen from grace.
Oh yeah and I'm not British or a "Brit". I'm English and always will be English. The union is a farce.
