i agree if any midfielder is to score it'll be gerrard or another fluke free kick by beckham.

England ought to win, merely because Portugal have keyplayers like Deco suspended.

England should win but it will be close (unless they wake up and play some good football)

Remember that portugal are pretty much all on yellow cards for the previous match, and also down two key players. Figo will have to be on his best behavior, as will the rest of them, to not get sent off.

I think that they wont be able to resist though and we will see a 10v11 man game pretty soon. Whether england will win or not comes down to how well we can exploit their forced carefulness.

Is it me or do we English look forward to the matches, then when they come you feel very worried. I know thats how im like, im very worried for today...
But still have confidence in the team.

P.S IF it goes to penalties, I wont be watching it because of the tension.

:england: COME ON ENGLAND!:england:

Who is from Argentina...

Yes, and he turned round and made some great comments basically saying:

England suck, they play long ball. That means it in the air alot and so I be watching out for the fouls they commit in jumping for ball.

Portugal play the footbal i like, on the deck. They are just like my country.

(aka, i love my countries football and as portugal play that i will favour them :p)

..

p.s. This isnt exactly the wording he used but it gives you a rough idea of the possible bias in the match

Basically he said, I dont like England, altough Scolari was manager of Brzail, Argentina's old rival ;P

So nervous about this game. Think Scolari is by far the better tactician. Just praying for an England win.

Glad the Brazillian Decco is not playing, he has looked very dengerous unlike Figo who has been more of a spectator.

Don't think the yellow card situation will affect how any of them play, just making it to the Semi Finals will match a feat only achieved once by a Portugues side.

Hope Lampard scores, I agree he is due one. Probably had more shots than anyone in this World Cup.

Paid 200 GBP for a years subscription to ART Sports to watch the World Cup at home. Watched most of them in the Pub :drink:

Fluke! He's widely regarded as the best/most accurate crosser of the ball in Europe. Not scored for a while and was due one. :worthy:

Many better free kick takers out there though, Beckham is just like Roberto Carlos. Living on the memory of previous great free kick and think that gives them more rights then others.

What was it? 3years since he scored from a freekick for england? Considering the amount of freekicks he has a shot from that is actually appalling. probably 1 in 5 hits the target, if that. Mostly he hits the wall or skys it.... that said when he gets it right then no keeper could save it but when it takes 3years to get it right then there something wrong.
