My music tastes are not specific to one genre so i goto alternative clubs/bars which has lots of emo's in, one of the things you often here people say is "Oh its fucking myspace night again". Im not talking from a short sighted perspective as i am usually surrounded by these people. I am also sick of how some of them go on about how they are so Straight Edge...but then they have meaningless sex or drink alchohol or do drugs/smoke.
I have a friend who knows a fair few Emo's so when we goto alternative places they end up coming over and speaking to him. They dont all go on about how depressed they are but a majority do. I paint you with this tarnished brush because i have seen/heard alot of emo's. I suspect not all of the chavs are complete *****, but i've yet to meet a nice one.
Why judge people by what they wear? well the thread is titled "Do you like emo", my answer is no and i have given my reasons. The weird outfits is one of the things i dislike because its so In Your Face "Hey look at me with my pink emo fringe and silver pyramid belt with 12inch spinner".
I dont like turning round and seeing guys with girls jeans on so their arses are hanging out!
Im not some complete outsider who judges emo's, where i live there are a few alternative places so they are always busy. The problem with this is the myspace emo's swarm there in abundance.
what do you mean you paint "me" with the same brush? i havnt at one point said i am Emo.
Just dont like the fact people insult some of my best friends, because they happen to wear tight jeans... Personally i think fashionably ripped jeans, t-shirts from Burtons with "eagle" motifs on, Gelled to the max spiky hair, and the latest nike air max's looks just as silly, but im not judging them as people.
the lad culture that is sweeping britain is much more of a concern personally, boy racing chavs threatening the very future of our country, and people whine at emo's for wearing tight jeans? Punks have been doing this for decades but no-one bats an eyelid?
idk, im not "Emo", i just happen to listen to the music. I wear pyramid belts, my trousers should probably be pulled up from time to time, I have "silly" floppy hair, that on some days goes over one of my eyes, im 20+, and funnily enough, i have a happy life. Ohh I have a Myspace account as well. Ill just get back to cutting my wrists shall I?
