Most peeps who dress "emo" aren't the despressed crybaby wrist cutters people make them out to be, the emos i know are some of the most fun and best people i've ever met..... it's just a dress code for the peeps who enjoy that music tbh... prefer emos to retarded chav morons

if i went into uni when i started back, wearing big polka dot trousers, a rasta hat, and a franky say relax t-shirt, I would get pummelled (not to my face, people are like that) . Why? becuase i was dressing differently. Not quite sure i see your point.

You don't always need to understand.
Just accept.

I don't always know what's going round in other people's heads, and that's cool because whatever it is, it makes sense to them and that's what matters.
Now if they're mentally lost and seek help, (or are a threat to others) that's a whole different story, but these people aren't.... (atleast not more or less than in any other social group)

most likely something along the lines of "I just do". It's thesame with them. They just like it. It's their preference, their taste. Can't argue taste.

Why do I like jazz-music?
Why do I like 80's music?
Why do I dislike trance music?

I don't know, I can't explain it and I shouldn't need to either.

Dont like the music, or some of the people. Some are really quite nice tho, inoffensive and friendly. Same with goths, a lot of friends are goths (not so many emo, that phase was a little late in starting for me). Im neither, but I dont have a problem with emo, just i cant get along with the music.

No it's not a cliche dude, you can't hardely compare the fact that you dressed differentely in your own way against a whole group of people dressing differentely the same way because the either they find it cool or they really think differntely and therefore de-associate themself with the "average joe" by dressing differentely.

Different is different and everyone is different, weather you like it or not, you can't argue with the fact that we (I guess we is average joes) see goths and emos as "different" the same way like for instance people who dress like monks because of what they believe are different in the culture where I grew up in.

Weather you like it or not emos and goths are different the same way a metalhead with longhair and and Morbid Angel t-shirt is different.

Hell yeah, even I will admit that I want to be different by dressing trendy and having a trendy haircut etc etc and why do I do it? Because in a weird way, I want to get noticed and that's what it's all about.

You know, a vote also brings a thread to the top of the page. flaw in the system if you ask me, but that's besides the point.
