I was sitting outside the cinema the other day, waiting for my mates, and some chav girls; must have been 14/15 come at sit on the bench near me. They start mouthing off at each other talking about this lad one of em had shagged, really loud shouting about how they have been dying for a fag all day. Ugly dogs they were as well.

This bird walks past holding hands with a pakistani lad and they all turn round and start abusing this bird calling her a paki-shagger, and fat slag and all this, spitting at her when she starts giving some chat back. I mean is their really any need for it, they need some fucking respect.

voted yes. Love the music, have some great "emo" friends, who are in no way emotionally overactive, they dont cut their wrists and are all 20-21, i dont wear stupid tight jeans and stripy red and black tops, but so fucking what if people want to?
For me its about the music. I listen to bands like atreyu, ffaf, avenged sevenfold etc. If that makes me emo, fine by me, but fuck off tarring everyone with the same brush and using stupid cliches.

In my local club, Emo bands seem to be the usual bands that play there, nobody gets up to listen to them and all the emo kids that are there seem to sit there looking sorry for themselves, going to an emo band gig must be a riot.

That being said, I do listen to FFaF, Fallout Boy, My chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold and the like aye, So I can't say outright I dislike Emo, however, bands like Dashboard, Aiden (Lol at the fat kid emos in that band btw it screams 'Im emo since I dont have any friends and want to get laid') must be shot.

The look itself is purely stupid in every way possible, the lads wear WOMENS jeans half the time or drain pipes, makes me wonder how the smeg they fit into these things, are they anorexic by default or what? The haircuts are awful, I don't know how on earth they see where they're going with such unbelievably stupid cuts, I have yet to come across an Emo who isn't extrovert about stuff, every single one i've met always has their head hanging down with no look of anything positive on their faces, what the hell is with these people?

The girls, heh, most of them are anorexic which adds to the idiot factor, the clothes they wear, what era are they living in again? Polka dots, ragged hair or similar to the male type, although with the girl type some of them seem a bit more "Excited" shall I say?

Emo is definately something that is set to die out before long, it's a flash in the pan, the current version of emo as it is, I bet 90% of emo kids dont even know what emo fucking means (It doesnt mean Emotional btw, that's retard speak).

The Emo of today is nothing like what it was originally, today's emo is something that will not last, I wonder how many are going to hit about 30 years old, looking at all the tatoos they got on their arms with roses, love hearts and the like and think "God I was a moron back then".

ive been to see ffaf, atreyu, story of the year, and several other lesser known "emo" bands, and ive gotta say its the best time ive had in my life.
The atmosphere is just awesome, and when that really heavy song comes on, just mosh!
fine i hate the emo's that just stand around doing jack shit looking sorry all day, and cry on myspace all the time, but the only people i know in real life are nothing like that at all. Guys and girls alike are fun loving , generally cool people. Everyone gets depressed occasionally, Im sure some 9-5 suit wearers are less happy than a lot of "emo's" are.

My music tastes are not specific to one genre so i goto alternative clubs/bars which has lots of emo's in, one of the things you often here people say is "Oh its fucking myspace night again". Im not talking from a short sighted perspective as i am usually surrounded by these people. I am also sick of how some of them go on about how they are so Straight Edge...but then they have meaningless sex or drink alchohol or do drugs/smoke.

I have a friend who knows a fair few Emo's so when we goto alternative places they end up coming over and speaking to him. They dont all go on about how depressed they are but a majority do. I paint you with this tarnished brush because i have seen/heard alot of emo's. I suspect not all of the chavs are complete *****, but i've yet to meet a nice one.

Why judge people by what they wear? well the thread is titled "Do you like emo", my answer is no and i have given my reasons. The weird outfits is one of the things i dislike because its so In Your Face "Hey look at me with my pink emo fringe and silver pyramid belt with 12inch spinner".
I dont like turning round and seeing guys with girls jeans on so their arses are hanging out!

Im not some complete outsider who judges emo's, where i live there are a few alternative places so they are always busy. The problem with this is the myspace emo's swarm there in abundance.
