what's the equivalent of a friar/heretic on mid and hib. like a char i can play with just one account. i would like to start on either realms but ive never played either ever i guess ranger's have buffs what about valewalkers ive always thought they would be decent to play.

Classes to play without buffbots: Mauler, Vampiir. Of course, it's not that hard to find buffs off someone.

I love my friar.. It's on alb and I am not dependant on anyone but myself. I can log in one account and just start playing without any buffbot and I can solo shitloads in pve and I don't do too bad in solo rvr either

NF rvr is kinda meh imo on Devon, the action is insane but so are the zergs.

Yeah, I agree. Before when it still was named Caerleon Cluster the zerg was also insane, its always the same frigging guy... Kzar ( that screenie is from April 2007 ), but quite alot of groups used to go to Agramon every evening/night...

I played yesterday on Hib and guess what, Kzar still running around with 5 fg groups on stick. It will never change but yday we had a few "8vs8"..

Another Returner!

Long time no post here. Even longer time notplaying DAoC :-(

I've arrived on Devon/Kay via Age of Conan and Warhammer after leaving Dyvet/Excalibur many many moons ago.

I couldn't face the idea of having to leave behind all my level 50s, my houses, trophies, titles etc etc and all the other trappings that come with playing a game for so long <sniffles sadly>

But .. the draw was too much - I couldn't stay away any longer. So I'm just coming to the end of my free 14-day trial, and so far have a level 50 aug healer with her epic armour, a few arties, and a couple of MLs, and I've just rolled a Bonedancer who is mid-20s.

Anyone who might possibly remember me from Dyvet will soon recognise me again - my US alts are carbon copies of my EU ones (so far). I've bumped into quite a few familiar names - I bet there's a lot more out there using new nicks that I should know but don't. I've joined a very friendly guild by the name of Running With Scissorz

It was actually to boring . It was either go irvr zone/bridge and get zerged or roam hours looking for a solo fight. Great for 8v8/zerg/grp etc, but for solo it is beyond terrible.

Really any Realm, there's technically balance issues, but unless you choose to let them affect your RvR you're hardly going to notice. Short rundown:

Mid - Most expensive, smallest population

Alb - Cheapest economy, largest population, likes to RvE against keeps with 4fg + (you're coming back from WAR, so if you do roll Alb, don't go anywhere near that zerg)

Hib - Somewhere midway in cost, and up there in population with Alb, RvR population wise it's about the same as Mid aside from the 2-3fg that zerg a lot. There's a lot of farmers on Hib which a good chunk of the population is sucked too

I find player mentality much better on Mid than the other realms on Devon, probably the closest you'll get to that on Prydwen - Can't complain about the action, either, and I duo 99.9% of the time.

Cheers was thinking of Mid since i already got hib on Kilb cluster (hoping for the mega cluster ) and alb is a no no after playing that for waaaaay to many years on Pryd . Now i just need wifey to tag along and the economy part wont be a problem ( SM + Valk + BB)

No run rolling around for solo as soon at it hits 6PM GMT the zergs start en masse, plus playing alb means dealing with ktard and cronies , didnt want to play mid as thats just as bad, and don't want to play hib when i have them on killi.. so option was.. /q and spend £15 elsewhere.

last night I checked and it was 2885 online on Devon cluster. it keeps raising. when I got back a bit over a month ago it was around 2300 orso. give or take a few +-.

its insanely easy to level. Im speaking from a bot perspective solo and/or grouping.

Classic and SI areas has 50% exp bonus i.e 150% exp
RvR zones(frontier and rvr dungeons) is 100% i.e 200% exp. double exp is sweet.

I leveled my Savage 20-41 in 6 hours using a m8s rr1 skald alone and a bot for buffs. Getting a good DF group is the best exp in game as far as I can tell.

Though I have been grinding in WoW past few years so I find DaoC easy pve wise. and I always missed how forgiving the game is for lowbies in group with higher levels, not to mention the group leader benefit(if GL is higher than you)

ML raids are quite frequently run. though 1 fg can do it all Ive been told. but there is no problem getting bg mls done. You can also buy Ml steps/full lines for bounty points. not to expensive either. especially not the boring solo/grps steps.

Artifact runs are quickly made by speaking in /region if you port to toa. always some people coming and always some healers that tags along to help out.

Im speaking from a Mid perspective.

Only thing thats a problem is the silly prices. Plats are nothing anymore. Dont hesitate to sell loot on cms for 100-300 gold it WILL sell a ton. and make you money. Otherwise farm dragon. I have no knowledge about that though.
