who the fuck decides what qw servers are run? Cos its obviously not a qw player. Theres a server running QW CTF - always empty never evar used. Theres two running QWTF - always empty never evar used. Theres 3 servers running named as BQWCL - permanently passworded and never used? And notice how Bookable 1 is never used because ppl cant be fked to go through the rigmoral of filling in all the forms on the barrys website about booking stuff just to play a quick game. In the old days ppl always dropped when asked in qw, they mostly still do. For some reason althoguh all the cs servers etc. seem to have about 50 million ppl with rcon, giving out the qw rcon to well known ppl to help administer stuff is deemed as a h00j security risk to barrysworld? Just seems stupid to be running wasted servers that are never used and refusing to give any sort of priority to sorting out the ones that are, new maps, zqwsv etc.

1 person on a server where 8 other ppl are trying to start a match of which he cant take part anyhow and who were there first is hardly 'clearing a server for his match'. The spikes aren't ffa servers, if he wants to nib that he can fk off there. The only thing they are used for is generally clan friendlies/praccies or just knock abouts between mates. First come first served

Why not make the post u made above in the game servers forum?

Cosmos like you was very opinionated about what he wanted bw to offer for qw players, but generally unwilling to amke the effort to do something about it.

If you actually post thoose views in the game servers forum, then maybe deathace or natrat will read them?

lo how many tiems i have msged/emailed/suggested stuff to Deathace, Natrat. Mr-Horus etc. Lerds of other ppl have also tried to get summit done qw wise to sort stuff that needs sorting but as i said earlier there seems to be some sort of anti-qwness. Go into #barrysworld or #bwadmins with a problem with cs and you get a reply instantly. Mention the word qw and everyone goes quiet.

This isn't directed @ anybody specifically but this is the sorta shit that causes aggro & quite frankly pisses me off.

Just because people are too lazy to book a server that somehow means that in #bwadmins we should have to listen to people bitch & moan in instead of just being able to concentrate on admining the games we are assigned? Well quite frankly Fuck That. If you expect anybody to listen when half your arguement is essentially "well we can't be arsed, so change it" then your outta your damn mind.

Secondly with regard to the empty servers situation I'd suggest that since there is a brand new thread by Horus in the QuakeWorld section of the forums that you speak to him about getting these converted to what the community wants. If you still don't get a satisfactory response to your queries then you could always try the support section.

brand new being 1 month old and still nothing having been done.

Was complaining because originally there were 3 bookables on spike, which remained unpassworded and usable when they hadn't been booked. Somebody decided it would be a brilliant idea to leave one permanently passworded and unusable and stop ppl from booking the other two while bringing a h00j faggy bookable system which is vastly inferior to the orginal one which allowed you to book a server in a few clicks. Nowadays you have to go through fk lerds of rigmoral to sort a server out. And also wtf is the point in appointing a QW liason who doesn't actually play QW and so isn't particularly concerned about sorting anything. It would take all of 5 minutes to upload some new maps to the duel servers and reboot them and to switch the mods being run on the servers that aren't used. Just seems stupid that stuff is decided about the qw servers with out actually consulting anyone about it.

Btw yeti was hardly 'bitching in #bwadmins' in asking for 1 person who was just sitting on the server for the sole purpose of ruining everybody elses fun to be removed.

QW used to be run well.

You've missed the point about the 'Definition of an arsehole'
Public servers are for public use, not for clan games. If someone wants to play on the server, then they can. If clans want it for their private practice, then they shouldn't be suprised when people join the game. And they have no right to complain.
If you think the booking system sucks, make some constructive comments in the game servers forum.

its a 'wait your turn' system. you cant play tdm with 5v4 so if theres an odd number and you were there last you shuld fk off and let them play. If you wont it should be possible to have an admin remove you to let the others play.

It's a public server, anyone can play on it.

It's not the admins fault that you lack the social skills to talk someone round into leaving the server or to spectating, etc...

Anything else is a side issue to the original lameness of the socially dysfunctional muppet who is the topic of this thread.

It'll keep being repeated until you understand that public servers don't belong to you or any clan and thus any one can play no matter what....its gonna take time from the look of things.

I am not in a position to "fix some wrongs" - I am merely pointing out that using this excuse as the root cause of the bad behaviour by the person in question is irrelevant to the arrogance and self-centeredness of their conversation in #bwadmins.

If you find it hard to use the booking system, then fine, we're not all gifted with the ability to enter a few fields on a web-form and then click on a button - I can understand how frustrating it can be...but be patient, think it through logically and you'll be ok.

Ive just caught up on this post, but christ, oldman, you are a total cunt. If your so fucking desperate for a server that you can use 24/7 piss off elsewhere and buy one. Stop thinking that the world revolves around you, stop spitting the dummy at the first available opportunity and realise that you are a faceless twat that myself, and probably half the others that have posted hear, would be glad never to see or hear from again.
