Given this is a thread about the possiblility of a falling population and given that one of the main reasons was ongoing AC raids then I am bemused why you would repeat yourself here.

You have a clear opinion as to the rights and wrongs, from what I have seen there are more who disagree with you than agree, but that it life and we are all entitled to our view.

TT made a stand and a statement. If it had been treated differently by GOA then a lot of those who left the server may well still be there and threads like this, wondering where the server is going, may not actually have been made.

Fact of the matter is that the event is done and dusted and people have moved on. Thus continual recriminations or justifications for that event are increasingly pointless. Well all the guilds i know who left to go to the Land of the free( burgers) SH etc was due to the SOTG saga and nothing to do with rp 'whores'(assume u mean VF etc.......) and Doorstep zergers ( censi?......) so i guess your kinda wrong.When were u last in daoc btw?

Add to that the constant AC raiding by a certain group of albs undermining prime-time raids by other realms, and the constant whine about adding and such from the kids and you are left with a cluster that has 667 people on it at 18:16GMT on a Sunday night.

I hear mythic are taking a very keen interest in the situation on excal/pryd, we may have a saviour yet, seeing as goa have completely lost control of the server and don't seem to be that interested in saving it. I wonder where this magic line of the population not being sustainable any more is, surely its time to either cluster with a german server (and all excal/pryd players learn german asap) or they transfer the lot over to mythic and let them fix it.

I agree completely with what you say, you can also take into account that Killibury time atm is between 10:00 and 13:00 and you see how much of a mockery it makes of the current situation on this cluster.

I don't think GOA have the balls to do anything with this cluster tbh, i mean look at Glastonbury, it was averaging 46 people at primetime before GOA actually did something. I still can't believe they gave the Warhammer EU rights to GOA after the appalling service the EU UK have got from them.

where is the line ? dunno, the spanish server has about 50 persons on it since start and i haven`t heared about plans to stop it or alter it.

clustering with a german or a french server ? why not, maybe even with the italian AND spanish server.

transfer to mythic ? i think it would be a financial and technicall nightmare due to account transfer and splitting. If all the people who played on english cluster would ONLY play on English cluster and people playing on german/french/italian/server would NEVER have made chars on english cluster, i guess GOA could just sell/lease the playerbase to mythic.

as it is, half of the people have chars on diff servers. are you willing to loose ALL your chars on other servers to have you chars on english cluster transfered to USA ? If you were german or french or whatever, would you like that all the time you invested in chars on the english cluster to be null and void due to the chars getting deleted ?

copying the euro/english cluster to the states might sound like a good idea, but i think it is technically and financially (maybe even legally) next to impossible.

Moving some 600 people to a US server would probably result in some of them going for relics between the hours of 4 pm GMT - 12 pm GMT, effectively turning them into AC-raiders.

It would do nothing but move this 'problem' to Mythic/EA

Still, I wouldn't blame GOA if they did it just to get rid of all the whines about dying servers, AC'ing, people lowering keeps in level...

The lower the population gets the more people will get frustrated about having spent so much time on their characters and having noone to fight. This will lead to even more bad air on the clusters and even more whines.

What I think needs to change is the attitude of some players. I mean getting shouted at for adding on someone's 1on1, then have that very same someone throw a tantrum because you don't add on a 1on1 resulting in his death... I mean, come one.

I personaly don't mind a low population. I started out on a US roleplay server so I'm rather used to it

the answer to your question is simple, as soon as enuff ppl quitted so the money they earn from player subs isnt enuff anymore to keep the servers running/pay the ppl of goas loan they will be shut down and the resources will be used for something new ( most likely warhammer)

well start petitioning mythic to allow /char copy to US servers then, that is the only solution to the giant fuck up created by albs and goa. all servers are suffering these days but no where near to the point of excal/pryd (discounting the spanish/italion etc servers) only this server has been fucked totally by perma AC raids that have made it utterly pointless to do anything prime time, thus boring for the vast majority, both FG'ers and zergers.

All good things eventually come to an end and if you've had 5 years of fun out of it then be greatful and enjoy the memories - but it isn't your LIFE and if you think it is you should seek professional help!

Well each to their own, but I feel quite happy with the way the server is at the moment and feel equally happy that we have lost some of the constant moaners to other servers!

This game has not really changed for me since launch, I dont play every evening, I play when I feel like it. Typically I log off before midnight and dont log back on till 7/8pm the next evening, as I have done for the last 4/5 years.

When I log on, for relaxation and enjoyment, I have to accept whatever the state of the server is. Things change overnight and during the day, but this gives me choices, I can go PVE, I can go RVR, I can Solo, I can Group, I can take Towers, keeps or even retake our's or other realms relics. That is whats great about this game, the variety!

If anyone is stupid enough to think that they can play this game totally the way they want, without making allowance for those that want to play the game differently, then they are playing the wrong game. You will get add's when you 1v1, you will get add's when you 8v8, 1 will be zerged by 8 and 8 will be zerged by the zerg. People will take your relics in a way you dont like and at a time you dont like!!!

A huge well done to everyone that has been involved in RVR lately. The mids involvement in RVR is great at the moment, very organised and action everywhere, the Hibs with very few players are showing great persistance and the Albs are having to try to defend against some very well organised opposition. What more can people want?

Keep it up, this server is as alive as it has ever been.
