its not actually refunding, you pay once the goal is reached. No risk there.
Only risk is your own life, who knows where you are in 3 years :)

Seems like crafting will play a huge deal. No thanks for me

Dude #1: "Let's go slay some vikings!"
Dude #2: "Sorry bro, I gotta craft this bridge, get to the forge, craft a pair of pants, set up a camera so I can craft in peace and craft a hammer so that I can craft even more!"

Drops don't come from mobs by the sounds of it but you still need to farm materials and whatnot for crafting. By the sounds of it you have to capture points from a mixture of PvE mobs that some of which might be controlled by players.

So much for no grinding :)

Will wait and see though.

Anyway...can this thread be merged with the other one or something?

backed! i mean we all know when this comes out you will buy a copy of the game. Sub it for a couple of months. Maybe you even want beta / alpha acces. We all know we will do so. Nps in telling them that now and throw them some bucks when they do reach 2 million. Worst case they dont reach the goal and you pay nothing.

What if they don't raise enough money, do they refund everyone?
They don't even charge in the first place. Kickstarter handles all the money. You pledge and enter your CC details, but aren't charged. They might put a lock on the funds.

You can cancel a pledge right up until the last moment.

If the project hits its target, then all the credit cards are changed. They also send you an email about it if the card transaction fails. Donors have a few days to update their CC details or they lose any pledge rewards.

You can also change your pledge amount up or down at any time, and/or switch tiers. The backer is in complete control up to the point the KS funds, then everyone is charged at their current pledge amount/tier.

As others have pointed out, you will probably throw $50 at the game when it is released just to try it, so why not throw $25 at it now and help it get made / help with how its made.

Thanks for all your support guys!!! We need more backers though. If you guys can think of anyway to get the word out and grab more backers I would appreciate it. :)

I'm not liking the concept of how you'll be getting drops/gear.
I liked the PvE aspect in DAoC.

"This is not DAoC 2" ... well ... if it was, I'd pledge. But not now.

Mini-bump because this needs your help to fund on kickstarter.

Make it happen Freddyshouse!

Same Feelings here, Even though I understand the lack of PvE is most likely due to the low budget, However There's loads of things that made
DAoC so much fun but won't be in the game(Realm Ranks mostly), which makes me not to be interested in it.

Pros:
Crown Control
Siege & Relics
Realm Ranks & Realm Skills
Templates
Interrupt and Defences (Block,Parry,evade etc.)
3 Realms and no mirrored Classes

Cons
Buffbots (was pretty bad that you needed 2 accounts to compete in PvP and the NPC buffs couldn't compare to the real thing)
Warlocks xD

I will check it out when it's released, but I am not expecting a DAoC2... the reason I didn't fund it.

How dare this thing fund? There goes my shot at being Prime Minister before I'm 40. I'll have to settle for Minister for Culture, Media and Sport or some other shitty non-job. :(

I've just lost interest in it. Stopped logging in to even check the tests now... tempted to get a refund (yup, backers can still to this day get a refund)

The rate they are going they will have to redesign the engine, it will be years out of date.

It won't ever hit market.

They should have just used Unreal Engine. I think they were way too ambitious with making their own engine from the ground up while thinking they could maintain a good timeframe for getting the game out.
