And as far as people thinking Mark Jacobs was the fall of DaoC etc etc like i did to a degree, i read this :

At the end of the day the guy has had time to sit back and look what was done right and wrong, and maybe apply it to Camelot Unchained.

Btw guys one of DaoC problems was that it wasn't getting advertised, so maybe pass the info around, i know that when the Kickstarter program starts i will chuck a few Plat in .

Mark Jacobs : Dark Age of Camelot had a budget of 2.5M for development. Our budget will be 5M for a launch title with me and another investor putting in 3M so far. We will be asking for 2M from our Kickstarter backers.

10k players, should be about the same amount of people who have a sub to daoc atm, I am told it is what 2.5k still during prime. That should be 10k-15k active subs.

Add in all the long gone fans who loved the original daoc before they started with New Frontiers and ToA wich imo ruined the whole pace of the game, changed it from "play it as you want" into funneling people into hotspots.

Jobless wonders that pay 20$ for main account and 20$ for buffbot account and then some people have 3-4-5 accounts.

The potential is there for sure, no matter how bitter and jaded one pretend to be.

daoc current populos is around 2.5k at prime
to reach 2.5k each day more then 2.5k must be active
some of those people waste so much money on daoc ( or are THAT committed ) that they not only put in 20$ each month but 40-60-80$

DaoC had at its prime ~300k population.
Alot of people in various other mmos still remember daoc and still think that during SI-ToA pre NF the game was one of the best ones they ever played, MJ and the old staff did that ( they also ruined it or atleast did not stop others from ruining it )


I never said 10k would be the nummber they needed

I said 2 mill divided by 10k was 20$ to put it in perspective

Some might donate 1000$ or 2$
