Gwad. Most vaccination centres are open till like 6/7. Just find one that’s close to your commute route and go on your way home.

Frankly, I would rather see someone jump the queue than not get vaccinated because they are edgy AF.

i don’t think it necessarily means someone is being edgy. After all vaccines normally take far longerto produce than what we have seen. There is no way I would let any of my kids have the vaccine because the long term effects on fertility are unknown

Jeezus.

It's a fucking vaccine. It doesn't fuck your balls up any more than the flu jab, polio jab, measles, mumps, rubella or tetanus.

I tell you what might fuck up your fertility - being dead.

To be fair, I wouldn't give it to kids either for the time being. I am happy with the risk for adults to take it but as far as I know the amount of kids that have died from covid is miniscule and usually because of other issues.

Yes, eventually it will be included in the usual rotation of vaccinations children get but for now it's not a priority.

There's evidence to suggest older kids should be vaccinated asap (assuming they can act as spreaders and vaccination more than halfs that rate).

But "not a priority" is one thing - "worried abput fertility" is something completely different.

This is silly. The people who develop vaccines over a longer time period are the people who tell you they're safe, and you believe them. And then those same people tell you that the covid vaccines are safe, and you don't believe them - based on nothing more than the suspicion that corners may have been cut.

Corners haven't been cut. They've just thrown money at it like there's no tomorrow to get it done quick.

Vaccinations will be the least of the things that are going to affect long-term fertility. All the oestrogen and other shit in the water has already seen to that.

If kids don't get vaccinated we're unlikely to get to herd immunity and we'll be dealing with this shit forever; as it is we're all going to need annual booster shots for the foreseeable even with herd immunity.

It was merely an example. I should have stated "the long term effects" but fertility was the one I thought most apt that would apply to my children.

Im probably worrying about nothing, I get that, but still, if they dont need to have it, im not going to make them have it until proper studies have been carried out. After all, there have been teething problems with the AZ that seem to effect younger females which is the bracket all 3 of my kids are in.

Straight from the Lancet

"There is little evidence of secondary infection from children to others in the transmission pathways of COVID-19. Although emerging data suggest that some vaccines can block transmission, vaccinating children cannot be justified if it is to give direct protection despite minimal burden of disease or to help to block transmission if children do not constitute a substantial reservoir for transmission"

There is definitely not a consensus on child vaccination for COVID.

Just tried booking my first shot. No spare appointments, call back later, just after listening to a recorded message saying don't call us for a vaccine, we'll call you. As life is far too short to spend every day trying to call a GP Surgery for an unnecessary medical intervention, I'll wait for their call.

So I booked in to the hairdressers instead as I have 12 months worth of beard growth to deal with. Then I'll maybe have some lunch and play golf.

You want the government to phone you to stoke your ego a bit?

Call's gone out - they expect active participation from the population. They expect a little bit of help and engagement from the public to help save lives.

That's not unreasonable.

It is a little confusing with all the methods of booking. I got my notification via a text from my GP with a link to book. I don't have an appointment for my second yet, I'll give it another week then call.

Not worth not getting it tbh, we have the vaccines, and we have the capacity to deliver them to arms.

Yes, I want a personal call from Matt Hancock telling me to go for my vaccine.

Alternatively, my ego is fine, and I'd just rather not spend 25 minutes multiple times a day running the gauntlet of trying to get through to an overloaded GP Surgery.

As I already have a good degree of all-natural immunity, I'm more than happy to wait for them to call.

Although this does mean I'll have to wait for a twee Facebook Banner to say I've been vaccinated. I'm just wondering if we have to do this for all our medical treatments? Not sure if I want people I barely speak to know about my Anusol use :/

Why would you book anything over the phone if you don't have to? Talking to humans? Ugh.

Probably as, like most humans, I am a social creature who would rather have a conversation with someone rather than click on a website - yes even receptionists at GP Surgeries.

Plus I can ask if they have an idea which vaccine I'm getting. Happy to have AZ, OK with Moderna but Pfizer can fuck off, money grabbing tossers that they are.

They are not human.

They are a particularly foul class of demon.

They're OK at mine, presumably due to the lengthy recorded message you get when you call up. Bit concerning that the first part of the recorded message says "If you are having chest pains or struggling to breathe, put the phone down and call 999" though - I thought that was obvious.

Same here, I was told I'd get another text for 2nd vaccination when my turn comes around.
Incidentally I didn't receive a little card saying I had my first injection. Can't say I'm that bothered as I have no plans on socialising with complete strangers any time soon regardless of who's been injected with what.
I'm happy to wait for the NHS app to be converted into the covid health app.

I, on the other hand, will kick off at any fucker who asks me to show proof of my private medical records to buy a pint @JBP|

I'll be vaccinated, of course - I'm not that much of a twat - but that's not the kind of Britain I want to live in.

Since I was a good boy this morning for my 2nd jab I'm treating myself to a Ben & Jerry's cookie dough peace pop.

You can kick off all you like, but if any establishment requires a look at an app before admittance you have two choices, either cooperate, or don't go in.

Kick off and leave. Repeatedly, as it'll be my local.

Also, I won't be the only one who acts like this.

So no. I won't COMPLY. There are many other choices - and thankfullly most landlords will not be enforcing this sort of shit. Because they're not barmy and there's enough wankers like me who'll make it not worth their time to bother :)

It might/might not apply to pubs, but you can kiss goodbye to traveling abroad without it. Also I expect any large sporting event/ gigs/festivals (perhaps cinema) and all that sort of thing

Papers Please!

Travelling abroad I can live with. It's an occasional requirement.

But day-to-day life? Fuck a UK like that. I hope a fuckton of people kick off. The majority of the country will be vaccinated so we won't need it - it's a shitty outlook and a shitty way to live born out of fear.

The great thing about doing it online is you book the 2nd appointment also so none of the not knowing business.
