How if the virus was already rampant when there is no history of how to deal with an outbreak of this scale in Europe the last 50 years.

I think you are being very naive.

As for prosecution, and your earlier CEO analogy I do not think that you CAN legally hold Bozza personably accountable - he has been PM since December. So which individual are you going to hold accountable ? Cameron? May? who ?

I guess you have never been legally responsible for a company ? If so you would know that if there was a H&S incident due to an historic issue then the company may have to pay damages but the veil of incorporation would not be lifted to expose a new CEO...

Look @caLLous - @Yoni said there's almost nothing anyone could do to prepare.

Your posting of negative facts on the NHS doesn't become you, help people in your street and frankly is fuck all to do with you because it's happening in another country - so why are you so interested??!
Posting of facts is fine - sounding like a broken record and calling for governments to be personally held accountable at this time is not oO

You mean, we had to wait for another virus to come along before we could buy PPE?

I mean - governent could have looked at sars, mers and ebola, spoken to the scientists who repeatedly said, years ago, "look. You've dodged a bullet there - our advice is to buy PPE and testing kits NOW - so next time you'll be ready"

Oh no @Yoni. I guess you're right. There was no point stockpiling in advance....

Have you had your account hacked by @Job or something???

The governments own Pandemic Committee told them LAST JUNE that they were ill prepared and what was needed. They ignored their own committees advice and did nothing. They could have been better prepared, end of.

There's got to be some PTSD shit going on with medical staff. Watching dozens die every day is not what they are used to.

ps. never visited that site before, it has teh aids.

I suspect its less PTSD in this case, more Post Criticism of Putin Accelerated Gravity Incident.

Well Ive finally tracked down some actual figures for Covid deaths from the Echo.
Liverpool cities hospital death is toll is 777.
Thats 4 months in, but they have shown a marked reduction in other deaths.

I have seen figures ranging from 41 to 777, so Ill post the worst figure.
There just doesnt seem to be a central point to check these figures...I swear they are just making them up.

Still 777 in 4 months over 12 main hospitals.

Hardly overflowing morgues.

I read earlier Job that we lose 10k a year roughly to the Flu, we had our first Covid death on March 7th? so within 2 months we have had almost 3x as many deaths as a whole years worth of Flu deaths and that is despite us all being locked down, something we have never doen for the normal Flu to see how much lower its numbers would be

A novel virus is bound to slice through without any population immunity...but its going to be in double digits by july and hopefully we will see a marked reduction in seasonal flu deaths.

I still stand behind 250K dead worldwide...400K short of a vaccinated flu.

You'd find your time better spent if you stood in your back garden and attempted to fart your way to the moon.

And still.

650 minus 250 is 400.

So your determination to shoot the messenger because hes not selling the catastrophe you have seen in the brochures.
What even is the problem, are we all so far down the rabbithole that simple facts are are judged to be an agenda if they dont fit the emotional state of the country

Phase 0 today! 0 deaths yesterday and only 16 new cases (Malaga).

Yup, should be some shops open in town other than food stores. Mrs Yuck is happy as she can book an appointment for a hair do :)
Looking forward to being able to travel in province in a few weeks, need to get to Leroy Merlin!

Was thinking about this.

Every fucker is going to go get their hair done and there ain't no social distancing from a hairdresser.

Outside of a hospital that lot could be one of the most dangerous groups to be around. :/

Nope there are strict rules. Appointments have to be made, nobody "waiting". Once inside social distancing between clients, so only a small amount of true capacity allowed. Hairdressers and clients using PPE, it will be far from normal. The reality is she probably won't get an appointment for a month or so because everyone will be calling them today.

Edit: there will likely be perpex screens between clients too. Everywhere already has them.
