Just watching some of tRumps news conference on BBC News (a rerun). I wish I was a journalist in the audience. I would forgo my WH Press Pass just to keep shouting out "Fucking laugh out loud you twat" at every statement he made. The buffoon is a fucking tool.

Exactly, he's either a habitual liar or he is too stupid to comprehend what he is supposed to be saying in these briefs. Or both (because he is definitely a habitual liar).

All he said in that clip was the name of the drug about 4 times and the fact that it exists (and "you won't die from it because it exists"). Nothing concrete whatsoever.

Apparently he almost put a tweet out because he (or his people) misunderstood what "discharged" meant and thought Tom Hanks had died.

He is trying to read from a script but finds it hard to do just that. The guy is clearly a liar and out of his depth and will be the cause of many American deaths. Unfortunately his braindead cult do not realise this. They still believe he is "God".

Jesus Italy is getting hit terribly and it is believed it is not peaking yet - currently just over half the infections of China but with more deaths :(

My mum went to sainsburys at 7:30 this morning. It was open for vulnerable and oldies only. It was heaving. The store was packed and so was the car park. These token hour for vulnerable ppl dont work because there are so many of them. They all turn up thinking there will only be half a dozen ppl there and its like a seige. Great breeding ground for them to all get infected. And wearing gloves. It doesnt work. Cause ppl are wearing gloves to serve or deal with loads of people or things and inbetween wiping their faces. Its just placebo.

Couple of power cuts here last night. All of the infrastructure is going to take a beating for however long these measures are in place. I haven't noticed a drop in internet speed but it was a sack of wank beforehand so I probably wouldn't.

Seen a few warnings doing the rounds that Quinine is not the same as Chloroquine and therefore tonic water does not cure Covid19.

Why the hell are they doing the Oldie slots at 7.30 in the morning? 11-1 here and it seems to be working.

I've got say I've been pretty impressed by the way Ireland has dealt with this so far; everyone's basically "not being a cunt"

I have been impressed in France as well. There have been incidents of twattishness in Paris but Parisians have a certain entitled air about them that I've not seen in any other capital city.

I drove 100km yesterday on what I thought was an essential journey - I had my form all filled out and everything - and I didn't see a single gendarme. I know somebody who drove all the way down France yesterday (Roscoff to Carcassonne), at the port he had to prove that he owned property over here (the ferry company warned him in advance that he'd be turned back if he couldn't) and after that, not a single check all the way down. I don't know where exactly they're doing these checks to keep people off the roads (I imagine it's centred around Paris) but they said they've handed out 4000 fines as of this morning. One thing I will say though is that it's working, the roads were the quietest I've ever seen them.

Generally the shops here are doin 8am - 9 am for oldies. Donno i guess they think they dont need sleep.

I’ve not been outside (except on the balcony) since Sunday morning but I have a supermarket across the road from me which has no queues and when my husband went for coffee beans and milk on Wednesday it was fully stocked including toilet rolls and tins. I believe people around me are behaving also.

1. Italy has the highest old age population in Europe
2. Italians have always been a people that like to get close to one another and have lots of personal contact.

They closed flights to China but it was already too late as soon as the first infected started to mingle. They did everything they could.

Have some fucking compassion. They may not be your relatives/friends that are dying but they are still human.

I have finally heard back from an Italian colleague who has confirmed that he and his family are all safe and well - isolating at home <3
