Until you and others whinge endlessly about it.....damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Oh noes! People are going to whinge!

Lets not try to do the best we can to *save lives* - because people might whinge!

How dumb can you get?

Considering the Dutch sent back 600,000 face masks to China as they didn't meet the required standards, I'm guessing they don't share your point of view.

Countries reject Chinese-made equipment

Slight difference between those needed for the General Public to go shopping in, and that needed on a CV19 ward.
Doesn't mention any specific vendor so doesn't really apply. Especially since this is referring to the stock being rejected by countries whereas the original point was stuff actually being sold to EU countries, not rejected at all.

How about "Frontline workers died because they weren't provided with PPE"?
That is already making headlines AROUND the world due to a global shortage of PPE and the materials required to make it.

I see the PPE from Turkey has arrived in the UK but only HALF of the original 84 ton order. Global shortage.

Dunno you've certainly proven over the years there is no limit to dumbness, hypocrisy, self-righteousness, etc. but you and others just pick whatever suits your own narrative and if they had gone the other way you and others would of posted endless links to twitter posts, news articles claiming how the government was killing people through using faulty PPE.

It's already happening and there is a good chance it'll get worse as long as the peak continues.
So... let's do something about that with the warehouses full of PPE (that we don't actually know isn't perfectly suitable) that's being sold to the continent.
Last week alone, the firm [Veenak International] packed five million surgical masks, more than a million FFP2 respirators and more than half a million FFP3 respirators stored in three warehouses in Birmingham and outside Heathrow Airport on to lorries registered in the EU, a source revealed.
N95 respirators are considered functionally equivalent to certain respirators regulated under non-U.S. jurisdictions, such as FFP2 respirators of the European Union and KN95 respirators of China.

When it comes to accountability, it is not just the Government i want held to account!. If it turns out that a lot of issues are being made by various managers within the NHS or other public sector organisations or politicians from other parties then i want them also to be taken to task so these issues can be resolved now.

^^ I agree with.

what I find incredulous currently in this thread is that it is just a big slag off of anyone and everyone. I also find it fucking hilarious that individuals here obviously believe they can do better BUT are seemingly not doing anything positive to help their communities apart from staying in doors..... The lack of ability for some of you to actually reflect and try to understand how difficult it must be to mobilise from the place that NHS was in to even where they are today is staggering especially as there are MDs, FDs BUDs in this group.

I assume those of you who are senior managers and directors in your orgs have been placed in that role because you are able to implement / develop practical solutions in a crisis? Why not whilst your sitting on your backsides potentially doing nothing find a way to put that experience to good use in the community?

For those of you here slagging the world off who are not responsible in the work place for other humans or processes - why not use your time to learn a new skill Or see what needs your community have that you could help with.

To give you all something else to focus on - my nail salon as introduce screens between client and worker - authorised by our health authorities to improve social distancing - so on Friday I will go and have my nails done again ;)

A false sense of security is worse than no security imo.

at least you know what the risk is without ppe and act appropriately. With faulty ppe who knows what the risk is

There was an excellent article in NYT theorising this so I believe it is entirely possible for all countries affected.
