Getting one's nails done and looking after a human life is a bit different.

You decided to get a nail treatment which could cause you harm in the long run. That is your fault. Personally I won't get a treatment which puts me in danger if I do not return within a certain date. That is just me though. Common sense. Human life > fucking nail treatment.

Dave down the road isn't one of the architects of the lockdown, working at the highest level of government with a duty to lead by example.

Like it or not, his job IS important in this.

Dave's a fucking idiot - gets fined, Dom's a fuvking disgrace and not sacking him undermines the whole case for distancing.

I've literally just got off the phone with a friend who's trying to use Cummings' actions as an excuse to go see his daughter. Tam's idiot parents are already trying to come up here because of him - we've said no, of course - but her mum's on the wanker warpath and even though they won't be here you can bet she's finding ways to break the lockdown - and she'll be saying "it's good enough for Dominic Cummings".

Wankers are looking for an excuse to do what they want.

Not sacking Cummings, on the spot (not 'waiting for a resignation, certainly no fucking press conference) - gives them that excuse.

Leading by example is the government's job.

I feel for cummings as a parent - and what he felt was best for his family. But when he made that choice the last thing he should have done before leaving his london home was send a mail to Boris saying "sorry boss, my position is clearly untenable, we could have self isolated in London but chose not to..."

At this point I'm 1000% convinced Cummings has some dirt on Boris because any sane PM that gives a fuck about their future election and view in the public eye would have sacked him on the spot... now Boris might seem like a bumbling fool but he's not stupid, which is also why I'm certain Cummings has something over him.

He should have said that from the start yes but 3 months pay isnt good enough, he should have stepped down after saying that, not acting lie a cowardly little fuck nugget trying to save his job.
