Hmmm..... *reserves judgement*

Core Combat Gameplay Revisions
In order to maximize the use and population of the Core Combat caverns, the following revisions are being made.

Module Gameplay Adjustments

For ease of understanding, some of the names have been changed in the game.

What was once "Stasis Box" is now simply "Non-powered Module".

What was once the "Stasis Building" is now simply "Module Building".

So now, you go to a Module Building, acquire a Non-Powered Module, take it to the Core Complex, power up the Module, and take it to a surface installation to install.

Feedback in the module selection screen will explain the functionality of each Module type at selection and display the Empire limit status of each module.

The Modules' lifespans have been reduced to 3.5 hours in order to heighten the requirement and incentive to visit the caverns. Module benefits will be shared across lattice links, similar to Facility Link Benefits.

Cavern Adjustments

All cavern Geowarps and Lattice Links will connect to the surface continents, instead of other caverns. Each cavern geowarp will now randomly connect to a unique continent geowarp. No two geowarps in any cavern will connect to the same continent. Additionally, geowarp connections will be prioritized so that connection to locked continents will occur less frequently. This means that eight continents now connect to the two caverns that are active at any given time. There should be many more points of access now.

Module Lifespan and Cavern Rotation

The Module lifespan is 3.5 hours and so is the Cavern Rotation cycle. At the same time that caverns rotate, geowarp connections will cycle and randomly connect to new caverns.

Buildings and Equipment

The Redoubts, AT Plants, and Module Buildings will all get five minute hack timers. These are exactly like the normal fifteen minute Hack-and-Hold timers on the surface, but only five minutes in duration.

Small caverns will be added near the geowarp entrances with Redoubt Buildings within them.

Equipment Terminals will be placed in Redoubt Buildings.

Ancient Sentry Turrets will be given Empire-specific skins, so players can more easily see who controls a given turret from a distance.

So Core combat had a long Beta test then, what with it being so long between release and the first patch?
