Coloured is, but he didn't say that, people of colour is the correct term.
No it isn't. The correct term is "people".

Are you determined to just post random stuff that's not on topic? No it isn't. The correct term is "people".

I agree with your sentiment, but again, that's not what was being discussed.

In the context of a story that's talking about specific ethnic groups? Very helpful.
It can be, especially if they're hard done by.And of course, highlighting various different ethnic groups, is massively helpful in its own right.

Don't be an arse. How do you have a conversation about the ethnic mix on a tv show in racially divided country without having a way to describe the different groups?
It can be, especially if they're hard done by.
Does it make you uncomfortable when that's pointed out? I'm struggling to see why you would rather that it wasn't talked about...
Well tbh, it's not typically a conversation I would have, I'd be too busy being entertained for an hour rather than finding something to get offended about - there are plenty of Guardian readers (and, as it turns out, handwringers on here) to get offended for me.
But if we must go there, then no, I'm not a huge fan of any sort of description of ethnic groups - mainly as giving them a specific name just highlights that they're different. And especially seeing as, we all know that "People of Colour" is probably acceptable now, but give it 3 years and that will be offensive again.
Just sayin'special snowflakes
Nonetheless it was a conversation that was being had, so needed descriptors. In addition, while I certainly commented on the ethnic mix of the audience, I have not indicated that I was offended by it. I was certainly a bit surprised, given a. Clarkson's bosses are American and most of the show's audience will be American, and b. Clarkson himself probably doesn't need any shit from the SJWs given past indiscretions. It just struck me as a fairly obvious, fairly easily avoided, potential own goal.
As for the rest; moaning about political correctness not being necessary or appropriate blah blah, is, in my view, exactly the same as all the special snowflakes banging on about safe spaces and no platforming. Everyone wants to have the right to say what they like without any opposing views, both left and right. Everyone, everywhere, has turned into a self-absorbed, self-entitled cunt in 2016. The asteroid can't come fast enough.

This.
I wasn't offended by it either to be honest, I just notice things and think 'How could this be avoided?'
I just thought it was pretty poor taste especially with taking the piss out of Zuma, why didn't they take the piss out of Trump whilst they were in the US?
You might find it hilarious @Bodhi but the reality is that South Africa is struggling with their racial divides, and it's not seeing any end any time soon, and as a result absolute crackpots such as Zuma are being elected, and this kinda shit doesn't help. You're not a black South African, I'm fairly certain there's a few people out there that watched that episode, saw a bunch of white people laughing at a black President and thought 'well fuck me, I thought we'd got past this, but evidently not.'
Sure, South Park can take the piss all they want, because that's what it's created for, they don't pick on particular groups, they pick on everybody.
As I said before, I'm fairly certain if we had an episode in Birmingham and it was full of Muslims and Black people, people would raise an issue there about 'over political correctness' or some shit.
Once again, he didn't say that they were.So in case it wasn't clear, they weren't taking the piss because he was black, they were taking the piss because he is a prize helmet.
Once again, he didn't say that they were.
I would say that Clarksons TV persona of a posh ukipper is the creation of people pissed off with endless handwringing about something the minorities don't give a shit about.
They are too busy hating each other.
Again, not what he's saying. Zuma is clearly fair game. However taking the piss out of Zuma is in bad taste?.
If someone suggests that it's in poor taste to mock Zuma when talking about racial inequality in South Africa, that is pretty much exactly what they are saying.
