Yes but under the competition rules the refs can only get identities wrong, UEFA leave no room to manoeuvre for the ref being wrong. I can't say I am surprised, but it was worth making the appeal, hopefully UEFA will review the rules for next season. Also Abidal and Alves lost their appeals.

I'm glad they lost their appeals actually. Yes, the refs were shit and both cards were unfair, however imagine if everyone would appeal whenever a red card is given in the CL. It would make the sport look like american football.

Its what happens in the premiership the ref will review and if he thinks he got it wrong the red card will be pulled a long with the ban. Its how it should be.

they can handle the system. It's there in spain aswell, however it's pathetic how much whine you'll hear from the clubs over there, and I can remember a few incidents where the cards were drawn back, even though they should have been there.

I would just hate to see it getting abused in the CL.

I look forward to watching the game. Both teams deserve to win the game. I respected Guardiola so much as a player and as a manager his attitude is fantastic as well. I just fear for Barcelona at the back - I think that will be the reason they lose, should United beat them.

On the other hand, if Henry and Iniesta play, which it looks like they will, United will have a very tough time defending against them.

man utd shiuld get goals with 3 defenders out of the barca squad, something wrong if dont get a couple

rooney and evra be able to keep messi quiet for most periods, but not forever. Park and oshea on right should be ok double teaming. though keita overlaping from lb could cause problems

Agreed .....when we played them last year messi looked dangerous at times but never actully seemde to deliver much end product...ronaldo..well...you never know if he will show up or not..
