awww, i feel the man utd hatred :D

I just hope it a good game, barca the only team i would have been happy losing the final too however my full support is with united.

Iniesta and Henry - what is their fitness like currently after their injuries? as them two only semi fit (if that the case) and a mish-mash defense could play into united hands.

I think United will pretty much split into 2 teams with 2 floaters.

Defense of the back 4 + Anderson being midfield workhorse.
Rooney and Park floating between defense and attack
Ronaldo, Carrick and giggs (as he prob get the fletcher place) being more attack focused with the Rooney/Park breaks from the wing once they blocked out the wingers of barca.

Man utd defense is increadibly strong, and if we play to our strengths then we got a solid chance of restricting barca to few chances, just unlike chelsea we have to make and take some up the other end.

If united get the lead then barca will be pushing on, with a weakened defense this could lead to united scoring 3 or 4 goals... the first goal is key, but will not be decisive tonight as both teams can score a handfull of goals

I prefer people to hate us and write us off, makes it that much sweeter if we win.

Nerves are kicking in now, off out to get hammered soon.

Hopefully we will win it for Sir Matt!

Come on Utd!

If Barcelona wins the Champions League, Park still wins

If you score 2 goals and Park scores 2 goals, Park has scored more goals than you have

When Park comes into play, he wins the game and all others lose

Park can't stop running.. EVER!

I am extremely confident of Barca winning.

But, you are also confident that the Spanish press is accurate and true, so I will take your confidence with a pinch of salt :p

I think Barca will be too weak in defence today and they will suffer a lot from our counter attack. Like corran I am not convinced of Henry and Iniesta's fitness levels.

I was quite sure we would win up until yesterday, but I am getting really nervous now. Never tell what will happen in games like this.

I think Ferguson will play Park and Rooney down the wings to track back and put Ronaldo up front in the middle with Berbatov. Tevez to come on as an impact substitute.

Nope, I think it will be Ronaldo upfront, with Park and Rooney supporting him from the wings.

It will be 4-3-3, Berba and Tevez will start on the bench.

We would not go as attacking as you suggest from the start.

My lineup would be:

Rooney - Ronaldo - Park

Scholes (or Giggs) - Carrick - Anderson

Evra - Vidic - Rio - O' Shea

Could Fergie double bluff and go 4-4-2 again with

Ronaldo Rooney
Giggs Anderson Carrick Park
Evra Vidic Rio O'Shea

?

Rooney Carrick Anderson Park
Evra Vidic Ferdinand O'Shea
Van Der Sar

credit to barcelona, they certainly deserve the current scoreline. Man Utd been oh so poor and playing without a midfield.

Messi had a good game, always feared he would finally turn up to a game against the english. He deserved his goal een if we left him totally free.

Even when not under pressure our passing has been awful, barcelona been brillant with their passing... only thing that annoyed me about barca is puyol acting like a fucking poof.

We just not done anything to test the backline after the first 10 minutes and that was our downfull, and without a midfield destroyer (roll on hargraeves return) we being ripped apart

Iniesta - Best player in the world.

Xavi + Iniesta - Best centre midfield partnership in the world.

Messi > Ronaldo

Not only did Barcelona pass the ball with far much precision, their off the ball movement was outstanding, both in defence and attack. United fans will probably say that united were crap and Barcelona were great, but thats only because Barcelona didnt let them get out of the 1st gear. I dont recall united having a clear cut chance and instead were restricted to half chances.

United could have and should have, dealt with the 1st goal. Iniesta makes a fool out of Anderson and then Eto makes a mug out of Vidic. Vidic is better than that.

And what a goal from Messi, superbly supplied by Xavi.

Doing the treble and beating Real Madrid twice in your debut year in charge. Does it get any better than that for Pep?

Reminded me of Arsenal Man U second leg all over after the goal.

If he finds Jessica Alba on his hotel bed wearing a Barce shirt hen he has it all ;)

I was impressed with Ronaldo's attitude today despite getting booked. He was the only United player who looked up for the game and looked their biggest threat. In my opinion of course :).

Barca are deserved champions.

Iniesta was definately the man of the match for me, Barca's best player in the two semi final legs too. Doesn't seem to get as much coverage for whatever reason but for me would be a far more fitting world player of the year award.

Having been less engrossed in this game, the way Barcelona sprayed the ball around was mezmerizing, they knew where it was going before it reached their feet.

However - United failed to do what Chelsea did and that was let Barcelona play. I was expecting Anderson to really get in the face of the Barca midfield but he looked like a rabbit in headlights at times, Carrick and Giggs don't really possess the power that Ballack, Mikel and Essien had to rough up the likes of Iniesta and Xavi. In trying to play their own game they seemingly got stung.

A good goal by Messi indeed, but he was a bit dissappointing other than that - much like Ronaldo last year.

I took a short break, but have returned now :).

I think that if Chelsea and perhaps Liverpool had played Barca in the final they would have won. Manchester United just couldn't cope with them.

Messi had a good game. Barcelona have changed their tactics a bit since Pep came in. We dont tend to rely on him as much as we used to, instead focussing our attacks through Iniesta and Xavi. When Messi did have the ball he looked dangerous and used the ball inteligently.

Barcelona played well and deserved it. Man United would have beaten Chelsea if they'd managed to bore their way past Barca. Some of Man United's play was so sloppy, very unlike them.
