I like his ideas for this, no PVE just sounds a great way to get past the PVE/PVP balance on skills and well remove the boring shit from the game.

I wouldn't want to invest my time really cutting down mobs for the next best item, if i'm on a RVR burn i'll log off.

Having no PVE removes the grind for the best items and the no lifers having the best gear because they can camp the spawns 24/7.

If PVE was in this game i wouldn't back it, because frankly it doesn't interest me, it feels like an obstacle to get to the fun bit of the game.

So strange to see narrow field of view pictures from a game last played some 5 years ago in a place last visited probably 7+ years ago and still know immediately you're roughly in the SSE section of Salisbury plains and north and slightly east to the barrows... Probably the best and worst game I've ever played, heh.

there's 2 games BURNED in my memory.

ELITE and DAoC

both had a kickstart in the last few months for a fallow up.

even if they fail or only succeed in giving me a fraction of the enjoyment i've had from the originals, i hope they make it to release.

even if Braben and Jacobs collected the cash, laughed their asses off, and retired, i would thank them for all the joy they have given me, i would be happy to have contributed to their retirement fund.

i'm looking forward to the alpha/beta/game

But 110 for a digital deluxe edition(read random digital stuff) of an mmo? Meeeh...knowing MMO scene and the % of failure incs, not worth it.

Looking forward to it, at least they're doing something different than the usual WoW-clones, and if they recapture only a tiny part of the DAoC-magic, it'll be well worth it.

No it's a fundraiser/preorder program, nothing else.

You're donating money, you're not investing them.

Investors gets their money back plus a profit on sales. As a kickstarter backer you're not entitled to anything but the game plus listed fluff, or the donated money back if the kickstarter fails..

I know the word "investment" is used more casually now but it still gives people the wrong idea.

In essence, for the 25$ tier, you are pre-purchasing a product that noone has even seen yet. It does not exist except on paper and Mark Jacobs lofty words and promises. Heard that before?

Anything above typical retail value of an equivalent Collectors Edition is basically donating money with no strings attached. To try the beta, you have to wait for at least two more years. Do you even care about MMO's in that time?
