It will be very interesting to compare this to Supreme Commander.

At least C&C probably won't cause your computer to have some kind of electronic aneurysm.

SC was a missed opportunity to create the greatest ever RTS, the UI as horrible and the game just feels cumbersome. I am hoping for alot more from C&C3, at least we will get an entertaining story unlike the horrible horiible mess that was SC's plot.

Traffic shaping and port throttling bud. I left BT for that reason. You changed ports to beat the throttling and enabled forced encryption to get around the shaping?

If they can fix the zoom to go out another level or two it will be damn near perfect.

how many more tittys do i need to tweak then.

ive read a load of guides on micro torrent and have it set at the ideal settings for my 10mb :(

btw i think the demo is class. but agree with being another zoom level, both in and out.

Tried the demo (thanks to tris btw for the heads up).

Well, erm...its "ok". I was a bit taken aback with the retro FMV, thought designers had given up on that sort of thing and left it in the 90's? Don't get me wrong its cheesey but I like it :)

The game itself feels a bit same old same old, but then you can't tell much just from that I suppose.

Is Supreme Commander really toss btw?

I love the retro FMV as well :D

SupCom isn't toss, just nowhere near as good as it should have been. Oh and the story is fucking awful, if you can even call it a story.

NTL have been port throttling for years bud and the defo use traffic shapping as well. A mate of mine is on NTL 8mb and can't get beyond 500kbytes/sec no matter what tweaks he gets, pisses him off no end.

i love it too.

for me its like red alert on the PSX, with better graphics and some better units.

mammoth tank brings back memories. rushing my mate while playing via link cable, with 20 mammoths rolling into his base.

Just finished all the demo missions. Great fun. Between this and SC my RTS need will be kept at bay for a little while at least.

FMV Rocks!!! Plus it was spot the famous faces time. I saw Micheal Ironside, Sharon from BattleStar and Sawyer from Lost was in there for a second to ;)

Seems very old-school, which I like.

I liked it, found it fun to play and probally will buy it, however i do have 2 complaints :).

1) Where are the walls and Gates?, I missed being able to build and enclose the base in a wall with gates.

2) Everything felt overpowered, the Ion cannon took out most of the Nod base when I fired it, and 3 walkers finished the job (skirmish mode)

I don't like that it kept asking me to build silos and I couldn't find them :(

Me too. Also I couldn't finish the level as it wouldn't recognise I'd destroyed the NOD buildings. A bit unpolished imo.

Hell yeah.

I mean FFS im playing this game sat infront of my PC not with a wireless keyboard/mouse taking a dump in the bathroom - Expanding hte MCV fills up half the screen.

The biggest problem with generals was the lack of zoom out - I really hope they give you another level or two to zoom out.

Have to say i have a soft spot for this sort of flashy game. Funky menus which do flashy things, FMV with recognisable actors and pretty good CGI, detailed landscapes and outlandish units. When all done together correctly its very immersive.

Compared to SC its a real treat, the dull landscapes, drab units and lack of a true story in that were a real letdown and while i agree some units felt a bit TOO overpowered in the demo i think itll be balanced for the full thing. The ion cannon for example probably doesn't do that much damage normally and is likely scripted to finish off the base.

Long live FMV!
