They are in the same boat as the socialist party, green peace, etc..
Yep, becoming more popular as the traditional parties fail to hold relevance for the people they've left behind.

:bazbeer:Ah but you forget left wing types are much more prone to not engaging with people that they don't agree with! By actively trying to shut down any debate with these groups the only result is that by not discussing the arguments being raised by people like the BNP is that they get to define the narrative.
It's the reason why at some point everyone that left wingers don't agree or take issue with gets called a racist, fascist, anti-Semite, (the last one being kettle+black as left wingers I've found to be horrendous anti-Semites),
Just means that groups with extreme or unpalatable ideas get to keep on plying their wares in the safe knowledge that their views will not be subject to any real, sustained and thoughtful analysis.
Plus by insulting and trying to label groups you tend to have people in communities who are the target of groups like the BNP and who have sympathy for what is being said also feeling that they are being indirectly attacked, which only further drives more support to these groups.
Or in other words left wing "progressive" socialist types are stupid twats.

Swwwwwweeping generalisations! Yay!
:bazbeer:
This is tonight, there's already almost a riot outside TV centre in shep bush.
Those protesters are such morons, what they're doing is utterly counter-productive.
The left are pretty anti-BNP - just because they'd be first against the wall if they got in![]()
I'm not sure they'll be the exact first...
I was just thinking of the rise of hitler - the first people he killed were the communists and the socialists.
Yeah, the bnp are on the far left with their economic policy, doing away with the socialists would just make them self-loathers, or something.
I found this an interesting read:
Complete list of BNP councillors
Just watched preliminary excerpts from the program - looks like a scripted attack on him rather than an episode of question time.
Lots of the crowd being allowed to rant at him without asking a question in a way that would not have been allowed for anyone else on the panel.
Excerpts that may not be in the edited programme, as with any other episode of QT.
