Expecting others to abide by international law when you don't ?

Darzil

According to not just the uk and us, but other countries, the advice they were given before they invaded iraq was that the war wouldnt be illegal. Although the US/Uk haters will ofc say they are lying

Is there any reason why, for example, Finland wouldn't be able to start war against UK with your standards?* UK does have nuclear weapons, that alone is enough to start the war? The thing is that NATO ruled over UN when the Iraq war started - it has nothing to do with "hating" US/UK.

With the sort of patriotism seen in this thread it would be best if UK leaves EU and stands up admitting they give a flying fuck about anyone else? Keep on wanking over the queen's picture and chanting how superior your nation is - after acting like total ***** for ages and ages I actually understand the reasons why UK needs nuclear weapons...

* worry not, UK has nothing anyone needs on that tiny island :p

Finland couldn't start a war with the UK because they would get their asses kicked :|, it would be like a fly starting war on a rhino.

Saggy, I too would love to get out the EU. In fact there is a movement which has begun in order to force the government to allow people to vote if they want the government to be allowed to hand over power to EU government like they have done in current years. And I can see alot of the UK saying they dont want that and force the government to stop passing over powers, and take back that they have begun to.

EU is screwed up. European human rights act starts of being a great idea i support, but EU law is now a joke. How the fuck is it a breach of human rights when you prevent prisoners from voting in elections? They commited a crime thus they got no right to vote until they are out. And yet the EU demands us to PAY the CRIMINALS for not allowing them to vote in an election? What a load of bollocks.

Our economy is one the worlds strongest, we put more money into the EU then most other countries and in return we get screwed over at every corner. EU politics is fucked up and would be happy to get out of it. The only worry is that by doing so we could lose alot of trade which members of EU get benefits from. But we probably can get through that, and least it means that we will be able to make laws that make sense instead of the bollocks that we get currently.

ie. Did you know that Diplomatic immunity is given to the children of a simple admin assistant in Brussels HQ? Unless revoked we can not do a thing about them. Had this problem when someones kid was doing over 100mph in their vehicle in britain and we couldnt do a thing. Why family members get diplomatic immunity i got no idea, but that a great EU government idea there for you!

Not saying we acted correctly in Iraqi, and there was more reasons to it then simple nukes. Didnt go to war for any single reason but that was a big part of it admitingly.

Support the country? Of course I do!

See faults in way it acts? Yes. (But i guess Finland perfect sag's :p )

Patriot? Yes - problem is the Royal family got some twats in it (Charles and Andrew) and alot of the power lays in the government and not them. And so I support my country but dont always agree.

And you realise that UN voting against invading had more to do with Oil then NATO decision to go in? Especially considering France made a big chunk out of oil deals with Iraq. The problem with the world today is that they too scared to stick up to "bullies". And before you ask, if UK arent careful they will come under that heading however they not quite there yet. Saddam killed without reason, we screwed up big time but we killed for a legitimate reason unfortunately too often we killed people that were innocent and that is the problem.

Change is always hard, hence the civil war in Iraq. However there really only one side that going all out on an offencive killing without reason and that is not the US/UK collition, unlike the many suicide/random bombers out there.

But lets agree to disagree, as this been going on so long a game forum is not going to change anyones view.

Such an constuctive reply! :p (I did ask fairly direct questions you know)

Because your reply was just a tirade against the UK. Anyway, on topic. Do all countries with Nuclear weapons have to sign some treaty or something?

Not many like the Queen, its just a throwback to our dodgy past. She is a german anyway, with a son who is a twat with big ears.

Im patriotic yes, but the UK is shite now. Too many people have moved here in order to sponge of our state system, Eastern Europeans, Africans, you name it.

People say support the BNP and your racist. Thats a load of shit. A lot of people I know voted for the BNP and they are no way racist. They are just sick of the shit state the Uk is in now. You have people flocking here yet do not want to integrate and some want to kill us because women here dont wear tents over thier heads.

I wish we would become like the Aussie atm, if you dont bring anything to the country,m dont bother coming because you are not welcome.

Finland aint perfect but we dont see we are the "superior nation" who can tell others how to live.

Personally I'm nationalist - I support my country because I like our culture, not because of been patriot who thinks my country is the best.

Yet again - who were US collation to go and say people how to live?

Oh, I like UK culture - just keep it where it belongs :p

Sure it was :eek7: You admit that you believe UK is the superior nation who should have the power to say others how to live? Fair enough, I dont care - just dont try to "flavour" it by meanless words.

Do you have any concrete evidence for these acusations?
Hasn't it already been proven that people were treated like dogs, quite literally, in Guantanamo Bay? And I recall seeing a documentary on television featuring some people who, eventually, got released from Guantanamo when it turned out they did fuck all wrong, and surely the makers of the documentary would've needed some proof to back that up.
And I wouldn't really expect a country that executes innocent prisoners (over a hundred in the past decade or so, wasn't it? It might've been longer) to be all too careful at picking their prisoners, whether they're innocent or not.

Sag's, least that post didnt sound an anti UK one which the others gave an impression off. Like i said no point debating it too much here and spose if i ever logged on msn we could chat about it there. But I rarely bother with it lately.
But to just to comment on one thing, being a patriot doesnt make you think your country is superior - but then it depends on your definition of it. I love my country even though it has flaws and if it came to it i would defend it if it ever came to that. And believe me, I dislike many parts of this countries workings however it doesnt change what i said above. I just like to see us stop certain things and get our home nation sorted before worrying about other nations for the next few years.

Not many like the Queen, its just a throwback to our dodgy past. She is a german anyway, with a son who is a twat with big ears.

Voting BNP dont make you racist, however BNP in many places is actually a racist part. They been caught on film too often to state otherwise and i dread to think what would happen if they got in power. Problem is there nothing to vote for, we need a middle ground.

We need an alternative which takes from both ends, a comprimise in a way.

We can not stop everyone coming in, but we can control and pick who comes in. Indeed this is like Australia and canada.

If an illegal comes in, they get kicked out. No ifs and buts. They just go. Much like in france and australia. Hell, remember when recently the aussies told a ship of immigrants to turn round or be destroyed? Sent a message that!

A vote is required on handing of power to Brussels. In truth the government actually didnt have the right to do this in the first place. Anyone that says the vote in the 70s (i believe) allowed them too, this is not what was voting on. They merely voted on joining the EU. There was no talk of handing over of power and infact i think they expressed this would not happen. Once the people have voted then act on that in a diplomatic way.

Few other things need to be address such as the benefit system etc (Already doing my part there as i locate and help investigate benefit frauds :) ) as it is abused too much and in general is a joke. I could tell you a few stories about the DWP and HMRC but it best i do not.

Guess I should add politicians to England football manager to the list of things that if I want done right I will have to do it myself. :(

You could try but seeing as we are already a Nuke owning country i doubt you would get much support. But if we started to develop a new kind of super nuke that put the whole world in danger then i bet you would get alot of support from the rest of the world in invading us to disarm us :)

You seem to like very little about this country, why dont you fuck off to Iran :p
Not agreeing to the aggressive way of handling things means you don't care about your country? I don't appreciate the way the US and UK are handling things in Iraq and with Iran and such, so I guess that mean's I don't care much for England.

No, I dont see us getting any support at all - but the question is can UK whine a single bit or are they forced to say "yes, we deserve this war and saw it coming, sorry folks"? Or does the "double standard" monster strike again? Or is UK just so superior they should be allowed to do as they wish? :p

Saggy, i send you a PM later if i get time. But you got to take the stability of the people in control into account when you talking about these weapons. Need 2 authorisation codes to launch british nukes (good thing - blair aint stable afteral :p ) etc. If Iran had them there would be no safety measures. Look at the guy in control. Moment they have it they will try blackmail israel, fail and nukes would be sent both ways... or that is what i think is most likely anyways.

The war would be between Iran and Israel - once the first nuke lands and Iran threats to send next one to UK then feel free to wipe them out, before that its not our business.

It will be though, America has a hell of a lot of Jews in it. America will go defend Israel, UK will support them as if they dont, it will compromise our own secuirty as we are getting rid of our nukes etc

I did not agree with the war but as we are at war now i support the war for our troops.

But if we were to go to war with Iran it would have nothing to do with wmds nukes or anything it would be because they took our sailors hostage and played silly buggers. Which in itself is a act of War.

How many people have been charged from camp x-ray? Is it 1 or 2? How many released, mentally and physically scarred with no charges brought against them? 100's so far.
