Best map ever in ANY game...

Bear with me, I'm so bored at the moment TDC and his m00's are the only thing stopping me from throwing myself infront of a passing milkfloat *glares at barely begun essay*

Just wondered what everyone's fav. map / level was in any game.

For me it was the Cathedral level from Thief.

As for map, dm1, The Edge for Quake2 wins hand down in my mind

Morpheus on Unreal Tournament is tops, i like Inferno on CS as well.

Dead Simple. Doom. 'nuff said. (or was it doom2? can't remember :/)

The SP one in Q2 where you first enter the palace is awesome, too. As is the space secret-level.

To be all the Cs maps are similar in a way, I just take them for what they is

Q2dm1 is pretty nice, and there's a nice copy of it for OSP Q3, ospdm1, which is the only map i enjoy osp-ca on.

However 2fort5 has to be the daddy. Not just because of its qwtf success, but because it's also the top map for all other fortress games, normally in fairly unchanged guises.

Both those maps are artforms Especially Campgrounds(dm6). Love that map to bits, especially in Freezetag.

Hey Thoddy, as you were a dab hand at Q2 or so I heard, did you ever hear of a player called Yoda or Kinky Chicken?

Two uni. m8s of mine who managed to get into the top 10 UK players last year for it.

Unreal: Intro Level as you start the game - when i first saw this i was stunned at how amazing it looked and moved...

Was Bootcamp the one with the nuke button in the bunker? If so, then that IS the best multi map I have ever played. Sheer genius.

Edit: I've been (semi) reliably informed that the map I speak of is/was called Crossfire.

q2dm1 is pretty good but there are lots of excellent maps for ra2, ra2map24, ra2map16, ra2map20 (dm1 backwards is sheer genius) and ra2map26 all great maps i know kinky chicken too dunno yoda tho, but he might be b4 my time

heheheh. Crossfire is the map for tau-lag, and had my pc been able to cope with it at the time, it'd come a close second to bootcamp. So would its inbred daughter-cousin Doublecross.

Hehe, I spent 2 years in a student house with 6 other Half Life maniacs, so we used to play over the LAN. Lag wasn't really an issue... I don't think I've ever played the multi online actually...

I think Crossfire is quite good, but the nuclear button place area isn't used often.
