Hmm...well that actually sounds bit over...there 100 hibs on relic room!! No prob let's just send 1 necro who hides his pet down on tower to pick relic up

This patch, necro's cant use enemy gatekeepers at all. Next patch they can, but not relic gatekeepers (pity really cus relic is within parked pet range :p )

From reading through the first 10 pages or so :wall: the issue wasnt with the necro popping through a closed door. all three doors were down, but the labs couldnt get into the relic room due to pbaoe'rs, so instead they parked a pet by the third door, guarded it with about 6 clerics, and the whole of the alb force. and sent a necro in to collect the relic.

the alb's saw this as a valid tactic, the hibs saw it as an exploit.

Mythic hadnt commented (by the time I got tired of reading the same argument)

what it effectively does, is removes the advantage defenders have in that attackers need to keep striving to get to a single location.

Unfair? yes, Game mechanics, yes. I expect that Mythic will take the same stance on this one, until the next patch.

Some of those (VNBoards) suggestions made me laugh.

I actually don't expect Mythic to do anything about it. Hell, they made it "not more than 3 rams per door". The stay-move-release method of getting places has existed since necros started killing stuff in dungeons. This is simply making use of part of the class's ability. To freely move a certain distance without hindrance.

You (General) want to make it that they have to be in solid form to take the relic? ahaha, a defenseless state.

The pet range is already limited, now they want to make it more? Hell, a clever skald can stun a necro pet while the necro is running and if the necro isn't watching, he/she will be out of range in seconds AS IT CURRENTLY stands.

Anyway, I agree that Mythic gave very little thought to the class as it is/will be flawed (not bugged) to hell forever. Necro's don't fit the game mechanics well.

there were two viable suggestions, (as I saw)

one, make the pet carry the relic... but the game scripting for that would be a nightmare.

two, make the necro revert from shade form, and need to recast pet. (and yes, I know pet casting takes necro's about four years)

removing the ability for a necro to carry the relic isnt fair on the class, however making it so they need to convert it to shade form with them would.



that aside, I think any group that takes down the third door on a keep, more or less deserves that relic anyway :)

It's really unfair. Until they make the pet invuneralble too, the class is completely broken.

Camping one single spot with 10 PBAE enchanters is exactly the same lame thing. After all they do take advantage that PBAE spells pass through walls, as a result they kill you before you even get close to the area that they suppose to defende. Wich is also one of the games mechanism issues.
So i find it pretty fair that necros can take relics this way. Also Hibs don't even care about doors any more, the only thing they do is to gether PBAEers in lord/relic rooms. And don't rush to yell GTAE is the solution, because it suck and can't prevent enchanters to stay camped.


p.s Just because your overpowered enchanters can't kill "something" in the game , it doesn't automaticaly means that this "something" has to be nerfed.

But Vermillion, GTAE through walls is bug abuse! The Herald says necro wall casting and GTAE through walls are the same type of thing.

And all realms have PBAE, just Hib has more, and in a line that 99% of the class (Enchanters) spec in. Not to mention, Hibs have TWO (Yes 2! NERF!!!11) classes with PBAE.

GTAE would be really useful if you couldnt cast it through walls/doors etc :) (almost as useful as bolts)

Albs..stop your whining about chanters,you do pbaoe defence too.Your whining about chanters is just patchetic,you seems to use it for every reason.

Also chanter cant get past 30 enemys,grap relic and go down

can I just point out that with the current patch, necro's and stairs dont go well together :p

Most keeps necro can get up OK, but has to release pet to get down the stairs.
Necro is the ONLY class that cant do a damned thing offensively or defensively without the pet , so making us revert to non-shade mode would be the same as saying you cant get relic in shade mode.

As suggested, making the pet pick up the relic, or even making it so the pet & necro have to be withing "get" range could work.

In the meantime, hibs just need to remember they can't rely on 1fg of pb'ers to defend a relic or keep ;)

Heh people think enchanters are overpowered what about animists?:p imagine 8 of them guarding a keep that can be:

7 mushroomsx8=56 mushrooms.
Hitting capped resistant alb=150 a hit sometimes.

so 56x150=8000(?)

That can be 8000 dmg on one person who goes near them basically making it impossible to take the keep?

Shhh Matt, this is a NERF NECRO whine thread. :p

Besides, I would love a SS of that defense. a horde of shrooms, cast, just inside the wall at a keep. Would LOVE to see the whines that come from THAT defense.
