What version of android are you running?

edit:// did you actually go to applications > manage applications > running or did you do applications > running services ?

You should see the option for force stop, uninstall, clear cache and install to Sd card, if you have done the first.

As to what version of Android, ive no idea lol .. only got the phone 2 days ago and i was given it for free as we just started some house family package thingy

Settings > About Phone (usually right at the bottom) > Software Information

It'll likely be the 'Software number' bit, although 'Firmware version' is a coarser-grained version on mine.

Remember this because it's how you check to see if an upgrade might benefit you.

'Baseband' is the bit that handles actual phone functionality, and I think all other 'radio' type things (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS). Separated off to try and stop hacked kernels from breaking regulations as far as I know.

'Kernel version' is indeed going to look like a linux kernel version number, what with Android being linux-based :).

I find the latest version of the swype beta to be quite bloaty, which is a shame. It runs very shoddily when using it with the browser now.

I ended up going back to the default HTC keyboard and removing the swype beta, it just caused a slowdown and found myself having to press stuff 2 to 3 times to select it.

That and its keyboard would stop working so it had to be force closed at times on my handset. (HTC desire, 2.2)
Your experiences might be different tho.

The keyboard stops working if the phone reboots, and needs to be force closed. It's a beta, which is important to remember, and I've submitted these issues, as have others.

Rocket Bunnies is a pretty good game. Free, too.

Very good ta :)

Also Angry Birds has been updated a month or so ago with new levels.

And "Angry Birds Seasons" is available, an advent calendar, level a day + Halloween themed levels.

Better than holding down the "1" button and going straight to my voicemail? Do I really need an app to hold down "1" for me?

yes because it does more than that if you bothered to even look into it. It goes straight to the message without having to go through all the other crap that your SP gives you in your voicemail box.

I think its a great app. I can instantly go to the voicemail message I want to listen to again just by scrolling through the list.

If you don't like it thats fair enough...

HTC Desire call volume is shit. Even on max, when you're out in urban areas it's hard to hear people. Anyone know an app to increase past the stock volume control?

Just to be sure we are on the same wave length, I don't mean the ring volume (which is stupidly loud), but the call volume when speaking to someone. In a house/room its fine, but outside it's too quiet.
